AI FACTORY ANYTHING BUT A CARD CHALLENGE

Hello!  Hard to believe it's Wednesday!  This week has flown by so far.  Once again, yesterday has been the only day I didn't post this week, but it seems like it has been longer!  Today's project is for this week's AI FACTORY CHALLENGE, which you can find HERE.  The theme this week is Anything But a Card.  There are some wonderful projects from the AI Factory DT on the blog, so make sure you check them out!!  Also, visit AI FACTORY STORE as there are some AWESOME new images along with all the AMAZING images previously available.

Since we recently returned from Disney and AI FACTORY has the SUPER princess digi set, I decided to do a picture frame with a picture of my daughter dressed as a princess.  I posted 2 pictures b/c I couldn't get a decent picture of the whole frame without getting some major glare that messed up some of the color, so that is why there're 2 images of the same project.

The AI FACTORY images are decorated in the following ways:
Princess colored with copics - E25, E27, E93, RV02, RV04, RV06, Atyou spicas on her collar and stars, Gelly Roll Metallics on crown, stickles for shoes and bottom of dress and Martha Stewart crafts pearls.  Crown colored on heart with Gelly Roll Metallics, main part done with Liquid Pearls and sprinkled with ancient SU fine silver glitter, top balls of crown done with SU silver glitter.  Castle colored with Copics - RV09, RV91, RV95, C0, C2, C3, C4, flags done with Stickles and clouds done with chunky white glitter from SU.  Frog colored with Copics YG03, YG05, YG06, YG07, G07 and crown done with Atyou Spica gold.  Decorative pearls are from Prima and sentiment is from EK Success Disney collection.  Frame is from Hobby Lobby.

I had so much fun with this!  Thanks so much for looking, and thanks to AI Factory for a great challenge.  You have til 10:30pm EST tonight 4/28/10 to enter.  Please let me know what you think of my frame.

SOFTPENCIL THURSDAY - GOOD FRIENDS

I am so thankful for my friends each and every day, whether they are here in my home town, people I have known for years who are far or my online friends, I treasure each and everyone of these special friendships.  So, today, for SOFTPENCIL, we got to make a card using the theme of Friendship and the image "good friends."  Make sure you visit the SOFTPENCIL SHOP to see all the AWESOME NEW images Elizabeth has designed - some SUPER CUTE images for Mother's Day!!  Also, check out the SOFTPENCIL BLOG so you can keep up on all the latest happens, including out 1 year anniversary CELEBRATION and BLOG HOP which will be coming in May.  You can also find SOFTPENCIL on PaperCraftPlanet by clicking HERE.  We'd love to have you join us for chats, tutorials and FREEBIES!!

Still feeling like I need to "mix things up" a bit today, so I did an easel card and didn't use Copics too much.  Only used YG11 (snail's head), YR04 (chick's beak) & BG32, BG34 (chick's feathers).  Tried to use other mediums for the rest of the coloring - so I used, 4 different flower-soft greens for the grass, K&Company DP to paper piece the mushroom, added color on the dots with Atyou Spicas.  Shell of snail is smooch and chick is Adirondak pearls and feather is stickles.  CS is SU dusty durango and groovy guava.  Top layer of CS embossed with Sizzix EF.  Flower is Prima, buttons are Fancy Pants designs.  Sentiment cut from white GP 110 with EK Success punch and is computer generated.  All DP is K & Company.  Hope you like it, thanks so much for stopping by!!

HAPPY EARTH DAY AND MORE!!

Good morning and HAPPY EARTH DAY!!  Lots going on today!  First, I will present my EARTH DAY EXTRAVAGANZA that I created using a new line from BUGABOO STAMPS.  A bit later, I will post my SOFTPENCIL Thursday creation and I will also post the winner of the 125 follower blog candy (sorry I didn't get to this yesterday, but it was a crazy, busy day).

I have created a journal made from recycled materials (by Darice), a wooden door hanger  (K & Company) and a card.  The paper DP on everything is Basic Grey Green at Heart - my new favorite!!:)

Now for a closer, more individualized look at each project:

BUGABOO image printed on GP white 110 as is sentiment.  Both cut with nesites, daubed with SU only orange ink.  Sentiment computer generated.  Orange organdy ribbon used on the side.  Image colored with copics - B95, B97 (pants); E00 (skin); B26, B28, YG06, YG07 (Earth), E57, E59 (hair and shoes), RV91 (shirt).  Used Xyron heavy adhesive to stick all backgrounds and images onto journal.
Door hanger image is colored in copics - YR23, YR25, G28 (tree leaves), E47, E49 (Tree), R22, R24, R39 (clothes), Y35, Y38 (hair), E39 (shoes).  Image cut out using nesties, printed on GP white 110 and daubed with SU old olive ink.  Sentiment computer generated and cut with nesties, daubed with SU regal rose.
And last, but not least, is my card.  Used textured SU kiwi kiss as base, SU tangerine tango Embossed with Sizzix EF as 2nd layer.  Squares backed with SU rich razzleberry CS, DP is Basic Grey (as mentioned above).  Kite embellisment also basic grey.  BUGABOO image printed on GP white 110 and cut out by hand.  Sentiment comes with image.  Image colored with copics - hair YR04, YR07; outfit V04, V15, G99; shoes YR18.

KABOODLE DOODLES CHALLENGE #29 - EMBOSSING

It's also time for another challenge at KABOODLE DOODLES!  This week's challenge is EMBOSSING.  I chose to use dry embossing using a Quickutz EF on my card.   I used a little different technique though - something I saw from an SCS swap made by SCS Bekah.  Before embossing the background, I stamped a background stamp on the CS and then embossed it.  I think it looks cool:)HERE.  I think it's SUPER SWEET!!  I just returned from Disney World/Epcot a few weeks ago so when I saw these dragons, I immediately thought of "Figment."  If you don't know "Figment," he is part

I got this image from Stamping Dragon Designs - you can find the store
of the Journey to Imagination at Epcot, he's a figment of your imagination, but of course, you can see him and he is purple and orange.  I colored this adorable mom and baby with Copics - basket, pillow, etc. E51, E53, E55, E57, E59. E47, E49; dragons V01, V04, V09.
Image is cut out using nesties and background cut out done using Quickutz.  Ribbon is brown organdy from JoAnn.  Sentiment is computer generated and daubed with SU Basic Brown, which is what I used to stamp background stamp which is an SU stamps.  Base CS is SU close to cocoa, second layer is also SU and layer underneath image and sentiments is Bazzill textured.  Button is Sassafras Lass.  Once again, thanks so much for looking and I can't wait to hear what you think!!
Also, don't forget to visit the KABOODLE DOODLES BLOG to enter your project. Can't wait to see what you create!!

It's a GORGEOUS Sunday morning here in Ohio - sunny and warm, who could ask for more?  I am delighted to share my latest creation for CRAFTY HOs' CHALLENGE, which is to create a project using pastels.  Now I have to let you in on a little secret - I am not a big fan of pastels - however, I AM really excited at how this card turned out!!
I LOVE the new DP I used on this card - it's Basic Grey Kioshi and the whole pack is AWESOME!!  The image is from Inky Antics and stamped on TAC white 100.  Image cut out with scissors and colored with Copics and Atyou Spicas.  Flower is from Prima.  Sentiment is computer generated onto GP white 110 and cut out with paper trimmer and then used ends of an SU punch for some added interest.  CS is Bazzill textured.  Thanks so much for stopping by.  I hope you are having a BEAUTIFUL day as well.  Please join my blog for a chance at my blog candy and also please comment and let me know what you think.

SPONSOR PRIZE PACKAGE -- 3 Digi stamps from the StitchyBear Stamps Shop

A note from our sponsor:  Hi Everyone, my name is Stitchy and I create under the name Stitchy Stamps...I have been creating digital images for designers for almost a year now and try to learn something new everyday...I started out in paint shop pro about 8 years ago and started making digital scrap kits...then I was introduced to the wonderful world of paper crafts and card designing...like I said, learning new everyday, the rest is history...I can't draw enough to keep me satisfied anymore lol...

Living in a small town in upstate New York, tucked away where cable doesn't even go...friends are far and few between...But being on the internet for the past 10 years, I have gathered quite a few from around the world...Just like I learn something new everyday, I also try to meet someone new every day too...
Thank you Angela and Company for allowing me to sponsor for you...I am truly honored...

In honor of our sponsor, this week's Challenge is to use STITCHING on your project.  It can be machine stitching, hand stitching, faux stitching, etc.

I took the "easy" route on my card - I chose an image that already had stitching!  Thanks Angela for yet another AMAZING SMC image!  I colored the image with copics - pocket B91, B93; hearts R27, R29, R35, R59; letters B24, B37 and WO for background areas.  Patches on letters done with Atyou Spicas.  Image printed on GP white 110 and cut out using snips.  CS is SU taken with teal.  Ribbon is Back to Basics from JoAnn.  I cased this fancy fold from Janet Snyder, an SCS friend.  Thanks for this fun fold Janet!  Also, thanks for visiting my blog.  Please let me know what you think of my project and join me for a chance to win my blog candy!!

PINK & PEARLS on SOFTPENCIL THURSDAY!!

Wow, it has only been 1 day without a posting and it feels like it's been a week!  I guess I've been busy;)  It's another SOFTPENCIL THURSDAY today and this week's theme is pink and pearls:)    Make sure you visit SOFTPENCIL BLOG to catch up on all the week's happenings and see the new images, also stop by THE SHOP to pick up all your images!  If you feel like chatting, you can always find us  HERE on Papercraft Planet.

For this week, we're working with the ADORABLE image Girl on a Cupcake.  I decided I felt like altering something this week, so here's what I came up with:

I used a KaiserCraft wooden set as the background piece.  It also came with pieces to make it stand upright.  I mounted KI Memories DP to the base piece using Xyron adhesive.  I printed the calendar pages from http://www.mycalendarmaker.com/ and cut using my personal trimmer.  Then attached pages to base using metal clip that came with the kit.  Sentiment is computer generated on GP white 110, cut out with Nesties and decorated with Queen & Co. pearls.  Girl on cupcake image is printed on GP white 110, colored with Copics - hair E71, E74, E77; dress RV17, RV19; skin E00, E02, E13; cupcake wrapper R21, R23.  Tights and hair bows colored with Atyou Spicas, Queen & Co. pearls also used on hair bows.  Frosting on cupcake is pastel pink liquid pearls with SU fine dark pink glitter sprinkled on top.  I had so much fun with this, I hope you like it!  Thanks for looking and don't forget to follow me for a chance at winning my blog candy:)

Today it's time to celebrate Earth Day over at CRAFTY HOS' CHALLENGE and the challenge is to create something using recycled products.  For my card, I used cardboard from an envelope (that was put in so the contents of the envelope wouldn't get bent) as my card base.  I decorated it with PEACEful DP from Reminisence and ribbon from ColorBok.  Then I stamped a Serendipity stamps image on part of the brown bag that my Unity stamps monthly kit came in.  I had lots of fun with this - made me think outside the box.  Hope you like it and join us over at CRAFTY HOs' for the challenge!!
