NEW CHALLENGE AT RAINBOW LADY'S - AT THE MOVIES

What time is it?!?  Well, it's time for a NEW CHALLENGE at RAINBOW LADY'S CHALLENGE!!  Our challenge for this week is AT THE MOVIES.  So, make something (card or other papercrafting project) that has something to do with movies and then head on over and link it up at RAINBOW LADY'S CHALLENGE.  You will have until Wednesday, April 6 to enter your project.  Good luck and can't wait to see what you create:)

For my card, I chose this beautiful mermaid from JUST SOME LINES SHOP and she is representing the movie "Splash" starring Daryl Hannah and Tom Hanks.  I colored her with Promarkers and then used Twinkling H2Os for her tail and bikini top.  Water is done with Copics and Nellie's die used to cut it out.  Backing DPs are SU and My Mind's Eye, CS is textured American Crafts.  Sentiment is from Impression Obsession clear stamps, cut with Nesties and buttons are Basic Grey.  Lace is from Making Memories.

I sure hope you like it and will play along with our challenge!  I have been out of town all week in a hotel with a horrible internet connection so I haven't gotten to visit any blogs this week.  I miss all of you and will come visit your blogs soon:)

For my card, I chose one of WHOOPSI DAISY's newest images from sheet #230.  I LOVE this image and had such fun coloring it with Promarkers, Copics and Atyou Spicas.  Then I cut it out with scissors.  Nesties used to cut metallic gold CS from Marco's Paper as well as Basic Grey DP.  CS base is sparkly, textured Bazzill, 2nd layer is glitter flecked vellum from Marco's Paper, 3rd layer is glitter paper from my stash cut using paper trimmer, all bling from Prima and sentiment is C.C. Designs Rubber cut out with SU punch.  I hope you like it and will come play along with us!!

CHI CHI MEMORIES SKETCH CHALLENGE #28

Hi everyone!!  I want to share my card for CHI CHI MEMORIES NEW SKETCH CHALLENGE.  As always, our AWESOME owner and illustrator, Natalie, has come up with an AMAZING sketch!  You can find the sketch at CHI CHI MEMORIES BLOG.

For my card, I chose this ADORABLE image from CHI CHI MEMORIES Easter set.  I colored it with Copics and Atyou Spicas and cut with Lifestyle Crafts die.  I chose papers from Best Creations and Cloud 9 Design.  All CS is textured American Crafts.  Sentiment is from Just Rite Stampers and cut with scallop and circle SU punches.  Then I added Pebbles flower buttons to the center.  Bling is from My Mind's Eye and  ribbon is from Making Memories.

AWESOME AWARD FROM MONICA!!

Hello everyone!  I am in Florida on spring break with my family.  It is nice and hot here and my kids have complained that it's too hot for the better part of the last 2 days!!  Hubby and I are enjoying the sun and it is nice to have a little time away from all our daily obligations:)

The internet connection here at the hotel and my laptop do not seem to like each other too much.  It is very frustrating, but nothing I can do about it.

Today I discovered my friend MONICA has presented me this AWESOME award, thanks so much Monica!!  If you get time, please visit Monica's amazing blog and leave her some love:)

For this award, I am to tell 7 things about myself and then pass this on to some blogging friends who have given me great inspiration.

7 things about me.

1.  I have 4 children, my oldest daughter, who is 11, has high-functioning Autism (previously called Aspergers), which makes for a very interesting family dynamic.  This has greatly affected my life and made me realize that laughter is better than tears.

2.  I am a very loyal friend and trust and honesty are very important to me.  If you treat me well, I am your friend for life and will always do whatever is in my power to support and lift you up.

3.  I am an open-minded Christian woman - I have very strong faith but am accepting of others' choices and decisions - I try to never judge anyones' decisions because I know that we are not all meant to follow the same path.

4.  I love volunteering in the library at my kids's school.  I wish I read more books for me!

5.  I love to watch sports on tv, especially NFL football.

6.  I have been crafting all my life, and cardmaking has been the most fun type of crafting for me.  I love to color - find it so relaxing - as well as try different techniques.  I am so very thankful for all the companies that I DT for as well as those I have been past DT for.  I am also so grateful for all the wonderful friends I have made through blogging and various card and craft forums.

7.  I love to be able to offer blog candy and hope that I can continue to do this for many years to come!

This week's FRIDAY FREEBIE is this awesome image of Easter Eggs!  I just LOVE it:)  I colored them with Promarkers, Copics and Atyou Spicas.  All scalloped shapes cut with Nesties as is sentiment from There She Goes clear stamps.  All other cutting done with paper trimmer.  Sparkly dots from Pebbles, pins from Jillie Bean designs, flowers from Kaisercraft, ribbon is SU crushed curry.  All CS is textured American Crafts and DP is K and Co.  Pearl flourish is from my stash.

STAMP INSANITY - PUNCH IT OUT!!

Bright blue CS is also cut with Nesties and then I used 3 different sized circle hand punches to make polka dots in it. Pink CS is punched with Martha Stewart border punch and sentiment fro Gina K. plus scalloped background both done with SU punches. Good Tuesday morning!!  Hope everyone is well.  My own life has more stress than usual, but I will not bore you all with the details.  Instead, I want to make today a HAPPY DAY, and what better way to do that than with a project from SOFTPENCIL STUDIOS.  If you have not been to visit the new SOFTPENCIL STUDIOS, you should definitely go check it out.  Elizabeth, the owner and illustrator of SOFTPENCIL digi stamps, has created a whole new line of products featuring her WONERFUL images as well as redesigns of all her digi characters.  You will LOVE what you see!!

Hello and Happy Sunday!  I hope all of you had an AWESOME weekend.  I spent the better part of the weekend going to soccer games - between my 2 sons, we had 8 games (I made it to 5) and my hubby attended the other 3 due to crossing over times and different locations.  It was quite busy and I am exhausted!!

My card uses this GORGEOUS image from WHOOPSI DAISY SHOP which I colored with Promarkers and Atyou Spicas.  Cut out using Lifestyle Crafts die and daubed with SU garden green.  Base CS is American Crafts as is sparkly button.  Flower us Prima.  DP is My Mind's Eye and metallic gold is from Marco's Paper and cut with Spellbinders border die.  Sentiment is also from WHOOPSI DAISY, cut with SU punch and daubed with SU mellow moss.

NEW CHALLENGE AT DIGISTAMPS 4 JOY - CLEAN and SIMPLE

Hello everyone!  I am fighting some awful illness, so this will be short and sweet for now and I will add to it when I am feeling better. 

We have a NEW CHALLENGE over at DIGISTAMPS 4 JOY BLOG and it is to create a CLEAN and SIMPLE card.  I am not good at CAS, but I have given it a shot.  I hope you like it.  Although using a DIGISTAMPS 4 JOY image is not required to join our challenges, we'd LOVE to see one.  You can find the full selection of images at DIGISTAMPS 4 JOY SHOP and I bet there's a FREEBIE for you as well:)

WHOOPSI DAISY PILE ON THE FLOWERS!

It's time for a NEW CHALLENGE over at WHOOPSI DAISY CHALLENGE and this week we are challenging you to PILE ON THE FLOWERS!  I picked out this WHOOPSI DAISY image from sheet #227 because I think it fits perfectly for the challenge:)

I have been experimenting with Promarkers recently, just for some different color combos, etc.  They are great fun!  I colored this image with Promarkers and cut with Nesties.  I added papers from My Mind's Eye to American Crafts textured CS.  Circle and sentiment tag cut with Nesties, all other papers cut on personal trimmer.  Sentiment is from Lizzie Anne Designs rubber stamps.  Flowers are all from K and Co.  I sure hope you like it!

SEW MANY CARDS ST. PATRICK'S DAY CHALLENGE:)

It's time for a NEW CHALLENGE at SEW MANY CHALLENGES this week and our theme is St. Patrick's Day!  You have until 10pm EST on Thurs., March 17 (St. Patrick's Day!!) to enter our challenge.  While you don't have to use a SEW MANY CARDS image to play, we'd sure LOVE to see one!  If you need an image, you can find them all in SEW MANY CARDS SHOP along with this week's FREEBIE.

For my card, I used one of SEW MANY CARDS NEW RELEASES, which is bear with St. Patricks Day Hat.  I love this image - I colored it with Copics and Atyou Spicas and added JudiKins glaze on the shamrock.  Buttons are Sassafrass Lass, sentiment from Dee Gruenig, daubing done with SU mellow moss.  Flowers are prima.  Papers are American Crafts texutred, Basic Grey and My Mind's Eye.  Image cut with Nesties and scissors, all other cuts done with paper trimmer.  Hope you like it.

STAMP INSANITY - HOLY GUACAMOLE OUR 50TH CHALLENGE!!

This may only be the third challenge I have been a part of as a member of STAMP INSANITY DT, but it is the 50th CHALLENGE over at STAMP INSANITY and it's called HOLY GUACAMOLE!!  So, you just need to create a project using your favorite technique or favorite colors, or favorite fold and then add a splash of green and come play along!  You have until 11:59pm EST on Wednesday, March 16 to enter and I can't wait to see what you have for us.

I chose to use STAMP INSANITY'S BUMBLINA image for my card.  I incorporated a lot of FAVORITES into this one - coloring, girl images and dry embossing.  I colored Bumblina with Copics and Atyou Spicas and cut out with Nesties.  Aside from triangle border, which was cut with MFT die, all other cutting done with personal trimmer.  Sentiment is from Hero Arts clear stamps and it is stamped on SU kraft CS and daubed with Staz-On brown.  Button is Basic Grey (one of my fav. craft supply companies) and all DP is Jillibean, another favorite!  CS is SU cherry cobbler and embossed piece is a sparkly red from another favorite shop, Marco's Paper.  My splash of green is on the DPs as well as the flowers on Bumblina's outfit, her eyes and some in her hair.  I hope you like it.

So aside from my husband's car incident last night, I have also had 1 sick child, 1 child with strep infection in his finger, husband's uncle with flesh eating bacteria which required half his leg to be amputated, multiple kids activities and appointments as well as 2 appointments of my own which had been rescheduled b/c kids were sick the week I was initially supposed to have them.  Throw in the fact that hubby was out of town for work all weekend and the fact that it has rained for 4 of the past 5 days, and you can see why the only term to describe life this week is "chaotic."

I have sat her in the egg which is part of DIGITAL DELIGHTS Easter Accessories pack, have colored them both with Copics and Atyou Spicas and cut using Nellie's die.  Sentiment is from DIGITAL DELIGHTS Marlooney's Quirky Quips that I colored with Copics and cut with scissors.  Base paper is Bazzill textured and all DP is DIGITAL DELIGHTS digi papers.  Blingt flowers are from Petaloo and lace is from JoAnn.  Thanks so much for looking!
