Well, we have made it through the first week of school for the 2010-11 school year - woo hoo!!  This week was a bit crazier than normal because all my kids are in school at the elementary and my kindergartner only went 2 days this week instead of all 4 like the others due to staggered start dates for the kindergartners.  Anyway, no big plans for the weekend, which I am relieved about because it will give me time to organize my schedule for the school year and more importantly, time to stamp, color and CREATE:)

Today is a NEW CHALLENGE at CATCH THE BUG BLOG.  Our challenge today is DOG DAYS OF SUMMER (animals) using NEUTRAL COLORS PLUS 1 OTHER COLOR.  Remember that while it is not required of you to use BUGABOO IMAGES in your creations, we'd sure LOVE to see them.  You can stop by BUGABOO STORE to pick up this week's FREEBIE or you may also find FREEBIES at BUGABOO ON CDAC or BUGABOO ON PCP.  Also, if you do use a BUGABOO IMAGE, you will be entered into the challenge 2X for purposes of our drawing to determine our winners.
I chose this ADORABLE BUGABOO IMAGE of Baby Mouse in Playpen for my card.  As you can see, my added color is pink.  I colored my image with Copics, Atyou Spicas and Sakura Souffle pens.  Image cut out using nesties.  Bo Bunny polka dot paper is cut using Nellie's Multi-frame die.  Bow is Offray satin.  Flower is from my stash, button is Denami Designs and tied embroidary floss through it.  Marianne Designs branch die used to cut branch out of Bazzill textured paper.  Cuttlebug EF used on 2nd layer.  Base is SU Kraft.  Flower DP is from SEI.  Thanks so much for looking and I hope you will play along with our challenge!  Remember to add your link to your NEW project using our Linky Tool at CATCH THE BUG BLOG.

I chose to follow the same rules as the BUGABOO CHALLENGE - an animal, neutrals plus one color.  My color is Orange.  I chose to follow the WONDERFUL sketch from 2 SKETCHES 4 U  for my card.  I colored the image with Copics and ran kaleidacolor ink across the edges after cutting it out with Nesties.  DP is K & Company.  I used SU creamy caramel for 2nd layer that I embossed with Cuttlebug folder.  Flowers are Recollections.  Bazzill brown textured CS are used for base and behind DP.  Sentiment is from Lizzie Anne designs and is stamped in Memento rich brown, cut with nesties and kaleidacolor was run across cut out.  Hope you like it, I'm thrilled at how it turned out.   Thanks again STAMPIN DRAGON DESIGNS!!

Happy Tuesday everyone!  I have a simple tutorial to share with you today.  Unfortunately, I cannot get my finished card picture to turn out very well - something with the lighting I'm using and I just am not that experienced of a photographer to figure it out. Today is a technique that I've heard called diamond dust and it's very simple and the results are cool:)
Supplies needed: Clear embossing or diamond embossing powder.  I used JudiKins Iridescent sparkle.  Versa mark ink and embossing gun.
Color and cut out your image.  I used this FABULOUS images from SHELLY'S IMAGES SHOP
Ink entire image with Versa Mark - make sure it's all covered.
Next, cover image with embossing powder
Heat with embossing gun until powder has completely melted.  You're left with a cool sparkly image:)
Here's my finished project, as I said, just couldn't get the lighting right, but I hope you get a feel for how cool it can really look.  I hope you enjoyed this!!
I colored the image with Copics, Atyou Spicas and Sakura souffle pens.  Sentiment computer generated and cut with SU punch.  Papers are embossed with Cuttlebug and Sizzix EFs.  Flowers, rhinestones and brads are from Doodlebug Designs.  CS used is SU not quite navy, old olive and yo yo yellow and Bazzill red.

The DT got to work with "Cindy" this week - she's sooo CUTE!!
I noticed a number of challenges this week asking for acetate to be used on your card/project, so I used acetate for my card base and embossed with Cuttlebug EF.  Then I stuck a piece of SU pumpkin pie CS to the inside of the card so that you could see the embossing better.  I'm really happy with the way it turned out.  I colored Cindy with Copics and Atyou Spicas and cut her out using nesties.  Sentiment is hand printed.  DP is SEI and also cut with nesties.  Pom pom ribbon is from Darcie's Heart and Home and pearls are Prima.  I hope you like it.

What a bizarre week this has been!  I typically don't like to get into too much personal stuff on my blog, but I feel like you are all my friends so just a few more items to share.  Today, I have received 5 letters from lawyers and 1 letter from a chiropractor to go along with 10 or more phone calls starting this morning at 7:30am from lawyers and chiropractors wanting to "help."  It has been crazy - I have not been answering my phone!!  I am feeling more or less fine, so I do not wish to pursue any follow up help - just want things back to "normal."  My van will not be done being repaired until at least Sept. 2, and while the rental vehicle they gave me is fine, it's just not the same comfort level as driving my own vehicle.  *Sigh*

On a sort of positive note, I haven't been sleeping well, which stinks, BUT it has given me more time to craft!!  I made this card last night and really like the way it turned out:)  Please let me know what you think!
This SUPER CUTE image of "Farmer Audrey" is from THE STAMPING BOUTIQUE, one of my FAVORITE places to shop!!:)  I colored her with Copics and Atyou Spicas and cut her out using Nellie's multi-frame dies, then daubed with SU lovely lilac.  Sentiment is from Hero Arts clear stamps, stamped in SU night of navy and daubed with same.  It is cut out with nesties tag die.  Paper is SU lovely lilac and DP and base is Bazzill textured blue.  Buttons are Basic Grey and lace is from my stash.

This card was made for the following challenges:
STAMP WITH FUN - lilac and blue
MY TIME TO CRAFT - farm fever
PAPERTAKE WEEKLY - something old (SU DP), something new (sentiment stamp), something borrowed (sketch idea) and something blue (papers, button and ink)
DIGITAL TUESDAY - lace (or butterflies or both)
A CRAFTY LITTLE PLACE - 1 tag on project

First, I really want to offer a HUGE thank you for all your comments and well wishes regarding my accident, I really appreciate your concern and support:).   Just a few updates - the other driver is fine, I got my rental van today, still waiting on word re: repairs of my van and I am doing ok, except for some discomfort in my left leg and some headaches, but I think the headaches are stress related.  Once I got the rental van, I was able to do all the errands I set out to do yesterday and am on my way to being caught up on things.

Ok, now some HAPPY news!!  DIGISTAMPS4JOY, an AWESOME digi company, is having their first DT call!  If you click on the link above, you will be transported to their blog and see the DT call.  I am certain you will LOVE the images, I know I do!!  I made a card featuring the image "4 seasons - Spring."  You can find this image and the whole line of DIGISTAMPS4JOY images HERE.
I colored the image with copics and atyou spicas flower headband.  I then used Ranger gloss over the atyou spicas, I love how they look sparkly and shiny.  Paper is SU pumpkin pie and kiwi kiss, Basic Grey DP, and Bazzill textured CS for card base.  Flowers, pearls and rhinestones are all Prima.  Sentiment is Verses rubber stamp, stamped in Memento timber brown on vanilla textured CS from Archivers and cut with Nellie's multi-frame die.  Image cut by hand.  I hope you like it, I am super pleased with how this card turned out:)  Please let me know what you think!

Just a quick update for all of you.  I was in a car accident today around 2:15pm EST.  I am ok except for some bruises on my left arm and side as a result of the driver's side air bags deploying.  I was very fortunate that I was the only one in the vehicle at the time a 16 and 1/2 year old plowed into my car.  I had just dropped all 4 of my children off at their babysitter's house.  After meeting with the police and ambulance squad for an hr., I then spent 3 hrs. at the Urgent Care facility near my house.  Needless to say, I did not get anything done today.  I know I will be sore tomorrow based on what the dr. said and there's a good chance my car will be totaled, which is a huge bummer b/c it's only a year and a half old.  But, I thank God that I am fine and just want you all to know that if you don't see me in some of the forums it is because I am busy with renting a van, and dealing with all the other issues that arise from the accident.  Also, for those of you who won my candy, it may be a bit delayed in sending out.  Love and hugs to all of you!

This card was set to post this morning, but Blogger changed it to draft mode and for some reason, I didn't even realize it was not posted til just a bit ago.  You still have about 3 hrs. to take advantage of the SPECIAL at SHELLY'S IMAGES SHOP.

Monday is not typically a busy day here on my blog, but today is going to be BUSY!!  I am pleased to present my card for MARVELOUS MONDAY at SHELLY'S IMAGES BLOG.  TODAY ONLY, you will find these 3 drink images for a special "BUY 2 GET 1 FREE" sale at SHELLY'S IMAGES SHOP.  So head on over and take advantage of this GREAT deal!!

I colored the images with Copics and Atyou Spicas and added Stickles to the tops of all 3 drinks.  I am loving how the card turned out - had a lot of fun with blending my Copics for these images.  Papers used are SU bashful blue and basic black, Bazzill textured red and yellow.   The yellow layer is embossed with new Cuttlebug EF.  Ribbon is SU.  Flowers are from my stash, red and white polka dot brad is SU.  I hope you like this, please let me know what you think!

This card was also made for the following challenges:
COLOUR Q - use poppy parade, so saffron, bashful blue, black and white (or similar)
