GOING OUT WITH A BANG BLOG HOP WITH CRAFTY HOs'!!

Hello everyone!! This is a bittersweet post for all of us who have been a part of CRAFTY HOs' because it will be our last challenge. Over the past 18 months, we have so much enjoyed seeing all of your challenge entries and we have been so HOnored to have amassed a great number of followers - way exceeding our expectations when we set out on this venture.

Unfortunately, all of our lives have become very busy and we have all branched out in a number of different directions, which is a good thing, but it also means that none of us have the time or attention to devote to the CRAFTY HOs' Challenge going forward. Therefore, we have mutually agreed this will be our last challenge.

HOwever, in true "HO STYLE" we are going out with a BANG!! First, we are having a HOp - you will start here and visit each HO blog on the HOp. Leave comments at all the blogs along the way and then if you wish, come back here and enter our ANYTHING GOES CHALLENGE. We have prizes for our HOppers and challenge entrants too GENEROUSLY DONATED from our AMAZING sponsors. Thanks so much to our sponsors for offering such FABULOUS PRIZES!!

I would actually consider my card for today to be clean and simple since I didn't add tons of extra stuff like usual.  I LOVE this image and the fun Nestie I used to cut it out so I just wanted to really make that part of the card stand out.  I colored this DIGITAL DELIGHTS image of Penny and her teddy bear with Copics.  I tried a new combo for her hair - an orangish blond and I love how it turned out - going to have to use it more often.  The ticket sentiment is also from DIGITAL DELIGHTS and is colored with Copics.  Papers are from K and Co. and Bo Bunny - Bo Bunny piece cut out with Nesties.  Used cuttlebug EF on blue strip and K and Co. flower sticker in lower right corner.   Lace if from Hobby Lobby.   I hope you like it:)

KABOODLE DOODLES - STITCH IT REAL OR FAUX

Hey everyone and happy Wednesday!  Half way through my vacation.  It has been nice being away from home and definitely less hectic not having to drive kids to and fro every 4 seconds or arrange play dates, but I miss my crafting/creating time as well as my doggies.  Also, 6 of us in one 3 room condo is a lot of togetherness especially when my 2 girls don't get along at all and my 2 boys rarely get along with the girls either and are often a bit wild.  I am sure I will reminisce on how wonderful these family times were in a few years...:)

We have a STITCHING challenge going on for you this week at KABOODLE DOODLES CHALLENGE and you can do real or faux stitching on your project.  We are sponsored this week by THE CRAFTY PAD and lucky for me, the image and sentiment that I chose from THE CRAFTY PAD already had faux stitching on them!!  (Wow, talk about taking the easy way out!!)

Anyway, you have until 5pm USA MST to enter our challenge at KABOODLE DOODLES CHALLENGE, can't wait to see what you create:)

I colored my CRAFTY PAD image and sentiment with Copics and Atyou Spicas then cut out using Nesties on the sentiment and die from Joy Crafts on the image.  Flowers are Prima and Papers are K and Co. and SU textured CS.  Hope you like it:)

It's Wednesday and my turn to post at JUST SOME LINES!!

Hello everyone and happy Wednesday!! I cannot believe it's already the middle of the week - yikes, where does the time go?!?   It has been a strange time since the storms last Monday. We lost 20-25 trees including the most prominent trees in our front and side yards. Our house seems so weird because when you look at it, it no longer has a nice tree to cover it up and it feels weird - like it's forgotten to get dressed!!

Today I am sharing one of JUST SOME LINES newer images and it's called "Emily Paints." I have colored this adorable image with Copics (my very favorite coloring medium) and cut it out with a square Nesties and leaving the butterfly to come of out of the Nesties. I have used Echo Park and Wild Rose Studio designer papers, K and Co., butterfly, lace from Recollections and flowers from Prima. Sentiment, which I think captures this image perfectly, is from MFT clear stamps and is cut with Nestie and daubed with Staz-On. I sure hope you like it and will take a trip over to JUST SOME LINES shop to view all the NEW RELEASES as well as all the amazing images Jehanne has designed for us.

SEW MANY CARDS GLITTER CHALLENGE

Hi everyone! Hope you are doing well. My internet has been in a continual state of flux all week due to the massive storms that hit this area on Monday night. There are trees down everywhere and it appears that they keep messing with the cable line every time they are removing branches or trees from areas. VERY annoying!!

I took some pictures - here's a few to share. Trust me, my yard looked good compared to some.

Anyhow, we have a NEW CHALLENGE this week at SEW MANY CHALLENGES and we hope you'll come play along.  The DT have created some great inspiration for you again this week and if you get a chance, I'm sure they'd love a visit to their individual blogs.

Also, don't forget there's a NEW FRIDAY FREEBIE and you can find it at SEW MANY CARDS SHOP.

For my card, I have chosen SEW MANY CARDS images FREDDIE and FRIEDA FROG and one of the sentiments that comes with the set.  I have colored them with Copics, added American Art and SU glitter, Cuttlebug folder, Cosmo Cricket DP and Nesties.  Beaded trim is from Hobby Lobby.  Hope you like it and will come play along with our GLITTER CHALLENGE!  You have until 10pm, July 21 (Thurs.) to link it up at SEW MANY CHALLENGES BLOG.

Additional challenges to follow:

I HAVE DRAWN MY WINNERS

I decided to draw my candy winners today! Before I list them, there's a few things I'd like to say:

Thanks so much to ALL my followers, even with over 1000, I am still so humbled and excited everytime I get a new follower!

If you see your name on the list of winners, please e-mail me and send me your postal address. If I do not hear from you by Tues., July 19, I will redraw.

If you have previously won candy, but haven't received it, it will be there soon. I always e-mail everyone when candy is mailed.

If you have e-mailed me within the last 3 days or perhaps even in the past week (prior to today, July 13) and I have not responded to your e-mail, please don't despair. I have had e-mail problems for several months now and on Monday night, a horrible storm came through this area and left a great deal of damage from high winds. Some people are still without power and my internet has been very unreliable.

Ok, I bet you want to know if you won yet, right?
Winners:

Happy Summer Candy - #112 SHARON C.
Graduation Candy - #61 SHEREE T.

Bonus Candy - #7 KIM KELLEY
#103 TINA MAKUC

Congrats to all the winners!!

EXCERPS FROM A FRIENDS E-MAIL THAT I'D LIKE TO SHARE

READ THIS VERY SLOWLY ..
IT'S PRETTY PROFOUND.

Too many people put off something that brings them joy just because they haven't thought about it, don't have it on their schedule, didn't know it was coming or are too rigid to depart from their routine.
I got to thinking one day about all those people on the Titanic who passed up dessert at dinner that fateful night in an effort to cut back. From then on, I've tried to be a little more flexible.

How many women out there will eat at home because their husband didn't suggest going out to dinner until after something had been thawed? Does the word 'refrigeration' mean nothing to you?
How often have your kids dropped in to talk and sat in silence while you watched 'Jeopardy' on television?

I cannot count the times I called my sister and said , 'How about going to lunch in a half hour?' She would gas up and stammer, 'I can't. I have clothes on the line. My hair is dirty. I wish I had known yesterday, I had a late breakfast, It looks like rain' And my personal favorite: 'It's Monday.' She died a few years ago. We never did have lunch together.

Because all of us cram so much into their lives, we tend to schedule our headaches.. We live on a sparse diet of promises we make to ourselves when all the conditions are perfect!

We'll go back and visit the grandparents when we get Steve toilet-trained. We'll entertain when we replace the living-room carpet. We'll go on a second honeymoon when we get two more kids out of college.

Life has a way of accelerating as we get older. The days get shorter, and the list of promises to our self gets longer. One morning, we awaken, and all we have to show for our lives is a litany of 'I'm going to,' 'I plan on,' and 'Someday, when things are settled down a bit.'

When anyone calls my 'seize the moment' friend, she is open to adventure and available for trips. She keeps an open mind on new ideas. Her enthusiasm for life is contagious. You talk with her for five minutes, and you're ready to trade your bad feet for a pair of Rollerblades and skip an elevator for a bungee cord.

My lips have not touched ice cream in 10 years. I love ice cream. It's just that I might as well apply it directly to my stomach with a spatula and eliminate the digestive process. The other day, I stopped the car and bought a triple-Decker. If my car had hit an iceberg on the way home, I would have died happy.

Now...go on and have a nice day. Do something you WANT to...not something on your SHOULD DO list. If you were going to die soon and had only one phone call you could make, who would you call and what would you say? And why are you waiting?

Make sure you read this to the end; you will understand why I sent this to you.

Have you ever watched kids playing on a merry go round or listened to the rain lapping on the ground? Ever followed a butterfly's erratic flight or gazed at the sun into the fading night? Do you run through each day on the fly? When you ask 'How are you?' Do you hear the reply?

When the day is done, do you lie in your bed with the next hundred chores running through your head? Ever told your child, 'We'll do it tomorrow.' And in your haste, not see his sorrow? Ever lost touch? Let a good friendship die? Just call to say 'Hi'?

When you worry and hurry through your day, it is like an unopened gift....Thrown away.... Life is not a race. Take it slower. Hear the music before the song is over.

'Life may not be the party we hoped for... but while we are here we might as well dance!'
