ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!? PLUS NEW CHALLENGE AT POODLE'S PARLOUR:)

Ok, so if you believe in the rule of 3, I should be done with disasters and issues for a while (but I'm going to keep my fingers crossed just in case LOL).  First, internet problems, 2nd youngest child gets in trouble at school yesterday, but now for the TOPPER!!  Tonight, after I had gotten the kids to take out the trash, clean the great room and dry and put away the dishes from the day, my older son, who is 10, goes #1 and flushes the toilet in the kids' bathroom.  All of a sudden, OVERFLOW and water EVERYWHERE!!  I was on computer at time and our computer room is right below kids' bathroom and I hear this pelting noise and realize it is water coming through the floodlight ring onto my carpet.  Best part - hubby out at meeting for boys' soccer teams tournament, so just me and everything had to be taken out of bathroom b/c water was all over the floor.  Uck!  Pretty sure a pipe burst or something b/c the kids overflow the toilet more often than anyone would like, but this is the first time it has "rained" in the computer room!!  (Also, there's some nasty musty smell, so I will be deep cleaning the carpet today).

For my card today, I chose "A Cute Little Chef" from POODLES DIGI DOODLES SHOP and I colored her with Copics and Atyou Spicas and then paper pieced her hat and apron with Basic Grey paper.  Other DP is also Basic grey, textured CS is from SU, flowers are Prima, Cuttlebug EF folder used on light brown triangle.  Nesties used to cut image and background.  Lifestyle Crafts dies used to cut sentiment which is from "My Cute Stamps" clear stamps.  Ribbon from my stash.  Hope you like it and will come play along!!

TECHNOLOGY IS UP 1-0, BUT I SEE A COMEBACK, PLUS NEW CANDY:)

Well, technology has kept me off the internet/out of blogosphere for about 24 hrs. give or take, but I am mounting a comeback and coming on strong!!  Not sure if my modem, AOL, blogger or my router is to blame, and it couldn't possibly be user error;), but I am back with NEW CANDY (see above and find Mr. Linky at bottom of blog to play along) and a NEW PROJECT for THURSDAY SHOWCASE at DIGITAL DELIGHTS BLOG.

Today I am using one of my very favorite images from DIGITAL DELIGHTS SHOP  - Myrtle the Turtle moving house, and "Dropping a line..." sentiment.  I love this image and had such a great coloring it.  I used Copics and then cut out using Nellie's as I did with background piece which is embossed with Cuttlebug EF.  Flowers are Prima, satin ribbon from Offray and DP is all from Basic Grey.  CS from SU and Marcos paper.  Sentiment cut out with scissors and colored with Copics.  Hope you like it:)

Hi everyone, it's my day to share something at JUST SOME LINES BLOG and hopefully you will find it fun and interesting!:) I typically always color my images first and then find the papers and the sentiment I want to go with them after. This way of making cards has become more and more time consuming as I search through my vast stock of papers and sentiment stamps. So, this past week or so, I have been creating the card first and then coloring the image after to go with the papers. I am still not certain if I am sold on this way of making cards, but I will try it out for at least the rest of this week.


Anyhow, I have also been getting bored making the same old rectangular or square card, so I have been trying to challenge myself to use different folds or different color papers than what I usually choose. You'll let me know what you think. Today I am presenting my Petal Card using a tutorial from Beate available at SPLITCOAST RESOURCES PAGE.

Here is the front:

I used my NEW NESTIES circles and then my old Nesties scalloped circles for the DP which is from My Mind's Eye. The Sentiment if from Fiskars clear stamps and the paper ring is Basic Grey DP.

On the inside I used Happy Hippo 2 which you can find at JUST SOME LINES SHOP. I colored her with Copics and Atyou Spicas and added some Stickles to the inside of the flowers. Square cut with Nesties and other shapes, including shape used for sentiment are Lifestyle Crafts dies.

Well, week is starting off ok I suppose.  I have gone back to volunteering in the library at the elementary where 3 of my 4 kids attend.  I have done this for the past 6 years and I really do like it, plus, helps me get to know all the kids in the class and gives me some time to interact with other adults who work at the school - the teachers, librarians, etc.

Happy Thursday!!  Wow, what a weird week it has been.  All weekend we were busy with soccer and then the kids and I tie-dyed most of Monday and we are still not done rinsing, washing and drying everything.  Tie-dying is fun, but a somewhat lengthy process and exhausting!!  Anyway, here I am and planning to do a lot more blogging for the next few days - I miss everyone!!

Happy Monday and Happy Labor Day to those in US and any other countries that observe this holiday.  For those who have the day off work today, I hope you get to enjoy it doing something you love and/or being with people you love.  I plan to spend my day crafting, tie-dying with the kids and yes, making my dreaded weekly trip to the grocery store.

For todays card, I chose the image "Batty Brew" and then used "Batty" from the accessories set 4 times - I colored and cut him out with scissors 3 times and then the 4th time I used him, I added him inside the "Boo To You" Sentiment from sentiment set #2 and rotated him slightly.  All coloring done with Copics and Atyou Spicas.

I chose CS from SU (textured orange) and Papertrey Ink (black and green) as well as DP from Cloud 9 Designs.  Cuts are done with Lifestyle Crafts (sentiment and backing), Nellie's (image) and Marianne's (border) dies.  Bling is from Bazzill.  Hope you like it!
