LACE AND PEARLS CHALLENGE AT DI’S DIGI DESIGNS!

Sorry everyone, a wee late with today’s post – pretty busy day, lots of cleaning!  We have a NEW CHALLENGE for you over at DI’S DIGI DESIGNS and it is LACE AND PEARLS.

For my card today, I chose this adorable image “Can I Try” from DI’S DIGI DOWNLOADS.   I colored it with Copics and cut with Nestie.  I added pearls from Prima, CS is Bazzill and DP is Kaisercraft.  I went with a vintage/shabby chic color scheme, which is out of my comfort zone, but I am pleased with the results.  The pearl flourishes are Prima and lace is from my stash.  Sentiment is Jaded Blossom and cut with new Paper Smooches die.  Hope you will come play along with us!

For today’s creation, I have used BROKEN BOX STOCK image “Angel Toodle.”  She is so precious and I had such fun coloring her with my Copics and Recollections glitter pen.  I have cut her out with Nesties, added papers from SU, Taylored Expressions and DP from My Mind’s Eye, Kaisercraft and Bo Bunny, ribbon from my stash and sentiment from A. Hey everyone!!   Happy Valentine’s day to all!  I am in a good mood today for 2 reasons – 1.  My 8 year old is finally fever free for more than a day and back to school for the first time this week – YAY!!  and 2. I am loving our NEW RELEASES at LITTLE MISS MUFFET STAMPS!

Hey everyone!  I'm back again today with my post for INKY IMPRESSIONS INSPIRATION BLOG. I am sorry I'm a bit later than I wanted, but I had to run my daughter's forgotten backpack up to school this morning, and it threw my whole day off!  Anyway, here I am with my inspiration post and I have 2 mini ideas for you today.


First is a background using Scor-pal and ink of choice.  Choose your papers.

Cut layer that will be last layer before adding image and embellies and cut to size, then make scors going down at 1/2 inches apart.

Next flip paper opposite direction and repeat scoring.

Now you have created a checkerboard pattern.  You can leave it just like this for a cool background or you can add some more color, which is what I chose to do with this Brilliance pearlescence ink.

So, I just daubed ink over the pattern, which brings out the pattern more and adds some nice color.

Next, I stamp my image from INKY IMPRESSIONS "Super girl Lili" onto Kraft paper.

When coloring on Kraft, you need to realize that since it is darker, you will need colors with greater saturation to make sure they show up well.  So, I have used Copic pinks from the RV family, but have stuck with RV 69 and RV 66 rather than the RV 14, 17 and 19 that I would use on white.  I also used RV09, 06 and 04 with just a very small amount of 02, but nothing lighter.  On her skin, I used mostly E13 and threw in some BV 00 and E53.  Finally, I went with E23, 25 and 49 for her hair, again a tad darker than what I would use on white paper.

Last, but not least, I have put everything together and added additional Core-dinations papers, lace from Hobby Lobby, button from MFT, charm from INKY IMPRESSIONS, cord from SU and sentiment from My Craft Spot, which is cut with Nesties as is image.  Bling flourishes from Prima.  Sure hope you like it!!

Hello everyone!  I think my brain is still asleep as I stayed up a little too late watching the end of the Super Bowl, but it was such an exciting game at the end that it was impossible to not watch it!

Anyway, I want to share our NEW CHALLENGE at DIGI DARLA'S CHALLENGE this week and it is SHOW US YOUR STYLE.  We are looking for creations that best represent your crafting style.   I sure hope you will come join us – you don’t have to use a DIGI DARLA’S DESIGNS image to play along, but if you do, you get 2 entries per creation and get entered into a second draw with a chance to win 3 images from DIGI DARLA’S DESIGNS!! You just add DD after your name if you used a DIGI DARLA’S DESIGNS images. Challenge ends on February 9 at 9pm EST.

For my creation, I chose DIGI DARLA’S DESIGNS “flower fairy” which is one of my very favorite images.  My style includes Copic coloring, lots of die cuts, layers and bling (or flowers) plus bright colors, often purples and pinks.  So, I have colored my image with Copics, cut her out with Nesties, added a Nestie behind her and a Nestie used for sentiment from Jaded Blossom.   I added bling from Me and My Big Ideas.  Papers are Core-dinations CS and DP from DCWV.  Hope you like it and will come play along.
