Head on over to Crafty HOs' Challenge for this week's challenge - Single Layer card!  Sounds like it would be easy but it's not, although it's really FUN!!  I had a great time making this week's challenge card.

KABOODLE DOODLES CHALLENGE #25

Monday morning, admittedly not my favorite day or time, but it does bring a new challenge at KABOODLE DOODLES this week!!  Check it out: http://kaboodledoodles.blogspot.com/

This week's challenge is to do a fancy fold card.  I chose this folded paper frame technique based on the SCS tutorial which you can find here: http://kaboodledoodles.blogspot.com/  I love this technique, it looks cool and not horribly difficult or time consuming.:)

All DP is from Basic Grey Sugar Rush pack, one of my favorites!!  Image is from Inky Antics, colored with copics and cut using paper trimmer.  Base CS is SU certainly celery, scalloped circle, which was cut with nesties is SU taken with teal.   Buttons are from deNami designs and ribbon is Offray from JoAnn.  Sentiment is computer generated and sponged over with SU almost amythest.  It is cut using SU punch.  This is also my card for an 80s swap, so that's what the sentiment is for.  Does anyone remember the 80's song "Jenny" by the band Tommy Tutone?  That's where the sentiment comes from!  Hope you enjoy it:)

BLOG HOP FOR GABBY ARRIAZA!

I am taking part in a blog hop for my friend and stamper extraordinaire, Gabby Arriaza (aka Gabby Green Eyes).  Gabby and her family are going through a rough patch right now and so a bunch of her friends got together to do this hop.  In addition, PaperMakeupStamps is offering 3 digi downloads on their site for purchase with proceeds from the sale of the image and 2 sentiments going directly to Gabby and her family.  You can check it out here:
http://papermakeup.com/

For this card, I colored the PaperMakeupStamps image with copics.  Gabby is a rockin', goth-y girl, so I gave the image a bit of goth.  I cut her out by hand and used SU crysal effects on the droplets.  CS is SU basic black and SU metallic silver is the 2nd layer, cut out using nesties.  Sentiment, also from PaperMakeup is cut using nesties and kaisercraft bling is on it.  Love the quote!!

This is the inside with a personalized computer generated message for our gal Gabs, love ya Chica!!
Don't forget to visit the rest of the blogs and let us know what you think.  Thanks for stopping by.

FREEBIE FRIDAY AT BUGABOO STAMPS

Today is FREEBIE FRIDAY AT BUGABOO STAMPS!!  Head on over and pick up your freebies:  http://www.bugaboostamps.com/Shop_digistamps.html  (you'll probably find some other stuff you like too!:))  I chose the flowers today as my image to work with because, as I have mentioned, I am craving the start of SPRING!  Plus, now that my blending with my copics has gotten a bit better, I really enjoy coloring flowers.
For this card, I printed the images in 3 different sizes, colored with copics and atyou spicas and then cut them out by hand.  I used SU green galore for base CS and garden green for top CS that I embossed with Sizzix EF.  DP is K & Company, ribbon is Offray satin.  Sentiment is computer generated an cut with SU punch, colored over with atyou spica and daubed with SU garden green ink.  Hope you like it and that it puts you in the Spring state of mind:)

SEW MANY CARDS CHALLENGE - FEBRUARY 19-25

Hi Everyone!  Another SEW MANY CARDS CHALLENGE today - make sure you check it out - http://sewmanychallenges.blogspot.com/  and also another Friday Freebie!!  Love this week's freebie, thanks Angela:)  This week's challenge, sponsored by Inktegrity (check out blinkie on my sidebar) is to create a card based on this sketch design done by our very own Jeri.  Thanks for a great sketch Jeri, I had sew much fun with this one!
For this card, I decided that I was tired of anything that looked like it was winter-y or Valentine's related, so I decided to step out of my "comfort zone" colors and make something fresh and bright.  I chose SU certainly celery for my base CS, K & Company DP, and this really fun ribbon, which I think I got from Stamping Bella.  Pearls and bling are e. by Prima.  I colored the image using copics and then decorated with bling, atyou spicas and SU crystal effects on the hearts.  I love the way the colors look, so fun and spring-like:)  I cut the image out with nesties and daubed with SU tangerine tango ink.  The sentiment is computer generated.  All white CS is GP 110.  Thanks so much for looking, please let me know what you think.

Thursday, February 18, 2010

Today is Thurs. and so it's Oldy But Goody day at BUGABOO STAMPS (visit the store here: http://bugaboostamps.com/home.html and the challenge blog here: http://catchthebugblog.blogspot.com ) Ok, this digi stamp, which is called Crabby Cathy could be called "Crabby Audrey" because I also have curly hair and hate to do housework, especially laundry LOL. I used fabric from JoAnn for the laundry. You can buy scraps in a few bins at JoAnn that are left over from rolls that were cut. I have always seen people use fabric on the cards and the effects amaze me, so I decided to try it. Very pleased with how it turned out:) I colored Kathy and the laundry basket with copics and used them for the background as well. She is cut out using nesties as is the DP behind her, which is K & Company. CS is SU old olive, ribbon is also SU old olive. Other DP is also K & Company, cut using personal trimmer, and pearls are e. from Prima.

This is the inside of the card. Sentiment is part of Crabby Cathy set from Bugaboo Stamps, higlighted with copics. Love this sentiment, so funny!

The sketch I used for this card comes from my dear friend Joni, owner and creator of Inktegrity Digi Stamps (blog: http://inktegrity.blogspot.com store: http://www.shophandmade.com/Store/Joni ). Thanks Joni!!

Enjoy everyone and let me know what you think.
