BACK TO SCHOOL WITH PAPER CUPCAKES

Happy Monday and Happy Labor Day to those in US and any other countries that observe this holiday.  For those who have the day off work today, I hope you get to enjoy it doing something you love and/or being with people you love.  I plan to spend my day crafting, tie-dying with the kids and yes, making my dreaded weekly trip to the grocery store.

We have a NEW CHALLENGE for you this week at THERE'S MAGIC IN THE AIR w/ PAPER CUPCAKES and our theme this week is BACK TO SCHOOL.  Our DT Member Gloria chose this week's theme, thanks Gloria!! 

You have until Sunday, September 11 to enter our challenge.  While we would LOVE to see a PAPER CUPCAKES image on your creation, it is not required to enter our challenge, however, you will get an additional entry for every entry which features an image from PAPER CUPCAKES.

I chose the PAPER CUPCAKES image "follow me" this week.  I paired it with a sentiment from MFT clear stamps and I think it works really well for a BACK TO SCHOOL card.   Image is colored with Copics and Atyou Spicas and I have added flower soft for the birds' wings.  Cheery Lynn dies used to cut image and backing, papers are DCWV and CTMH, flowers and apple stickers from K and Co.  Lifestyle Crafts die used for layer under sentiment.  Hope you like it and will come play along.

Hey everyone.  Hope you had a great weekend!!  It's time for a new challenge at WHOOPSI DAISY CHALLENGE and I sure hope you will come play along!!  Our challenge this week is BLING IT ON, so come on and show us your BLING!!

My image today comes from WHOOPSI DAISY sheet #244.  I LOVE this sweet little image of this adorable girl and her doggies - so cute!  I colored her with Copics and added Atyou Spicas for the flowers and trim on the botton of her dress.  CS is from DCWV and all DP is Basic Grey.  Bling is from Prima.  Blingy lace and gorgeous sheer pink ribbon are from my stash.  Shapes cut with Nesties, tag cut with Nellie's die.  Let me know what you think:)

For todays card, I chose the image "Batty Brew" and then used "Batty" from the accessories set 4 times - I colored and cut him out with scissors 3 times and then the 4th time I used him, I added him inside the "Boo To You" Sentiment from sentiment set #2 and rotated him slightly.  All coloring done with Copics and Atyou Spicas.

I chose CS from SU (textured orange) and Papertrey Ink (black and green) as well as DP from Cloud 9 Designs.  Cuts are done with Lifestyle Crafts (sentiment and backing), Nellie's (image) and Marianne's (border) dies.  Bling is from Bazzill.  Hope you like it!

KABOODLE DOODLES - EASEL DOES IT!

We have a NEW CHALLENGE going on this week at KABOODLE DOODLES and our challenge is "EASEL DOES IT" - in other words, make an easel card.  You have until Sunday, Sept. 4 to enter our challenge.

BABY CARD WITH JUST SOME LINES

Hey everyone, it's my day to post on JUST SOME LINES BLOG I am using one of JUST SOME LINES newest images "crib for baby", which you can find at JUST SOME LINES SHOP. I just love this super sweet image and I have colored it so that it would be for a little girl. The 4th of my 4 children is a girl and even though she is almost 7, I decided to make this card as though I was welcoming her to the world, so I chose her favorite coloring pink and the little blankie in the corner with the stuffed animals is yellow, just like her baby blankie that she still carries around.:)

I used Copics and Atyou Spicas for coloring and then cut out with scissors. Sentiment is from Fiskars rubber stamp and I cut it out with an EK Success edge punch. Flowers are Petaloo, papers are from My Mind's Eye, Bazzill and Papertrey Ink. I used Cuttlebug EFs on the 2 embossed pieces - circle cut

with Nesties. Lace is from JoAnn.

I can't even remember the last time I made a baby card, so this was really such fun.

WHOOPSI DAISY - 2 COLORS OF AUTUMN

We have a NEW CHALLENGE this week at WHOOPSI DAISY CHALLENGE and this week we are using 2 colors of Autumn.  I decided to go with red/maroon and gold and then add some neutrals.  I chose this ADORABLE WHOOPSI DAISY image from sheet #173 .  I colored her with Copics and cut out with Cheery Lane dies.  Flowers are from Recollections and leaf with butterfly and flower is from K and Co.  The DPs I used are from My Mind's Eye and the CS is SU.  Satin ribbon if Offray and sentiment is from Hero Arts clear stamps and cut with Nesties.  I hope you like it and will come play along!!

FINAL WEEK OF

Happy Sunday to all!!  Before I talk about all the AMAZING fun going on at ONE STITCH AT A TIME this week, I want to get "real" with all of you for a few minutes.  I don't mean to sound like a huge bummer or complainer, but just feel I need and want to share this.  Over the past few weeks, I have gone through a very difficult time with my oldest daughter who is 12 and has high functioning Autism.  She just began middle school this week and it has been a huge struggle for her - all of her issues and episodes are related to social behavior.  She knows she's "different" but doesn't know why.  Also, she can't really understand or express any of the emotions she's feeling, which makes things very difficult.  This time over the past month with her has been so heartbreaking for me as her mother.  It is just really hard to watch one of my children struggle so much and not be able to do anything to help.  I apologize if I have been a bit "out of it" over the past few weeks, but I have found it hard to get through this difficult phase.  I am so thankful for my crafting and being able to serve on many amazing DTs because it really allows me a great escape and let's me transport myself to somewhere fun and stress free.  Thanks so much for listening.
