NEW CHALLENGE AT THE PIXIE COTTAGE–ANYTHING GOES AND/OR SKETCH!

Now it’s time to introduce our NEW CHALLENGE at THE PIXIE COTTAGE! This week we are doing ANYTHING GOES and/or SKETCH. I chose Digital Image “I'm Not Ready” by Sandra Hammer from MICHELLE'S SCRAPBOOKING and MORE for my image. I love this adorable image and it’s sentiment and it was such fun to color with my Copics!  Image is cut with Sizzix dies.  I followed this week’s sketch by our amazing DT coordinator KATIE TATE.  I picked Heidi Grace DP and Darice CS plus dies from Taylored Expressions.   I added ribbon from Michaels and flowers from Prima.  I sure hope you like it!

WHOOPSI DAISY SPOTS AND DOTS CHALLENGE

Hey everyone!  Back in town after a lovely wedding weekend away.  So wonderful to see so many family members and to see hubby’s nephew (my kids’ oldest cousin and first to get married).  We were actually back in town since late Sunday, but had to get kids ready to go back to school plus unpacking, etc.  Yesterday morning was a bit frantic because my refrigerator/freezer appeared to stop working which naturally threw me into a bit of a panic.  Thankfully, it was just an outlet/fixture gone bad and once I plugged it in to a different one, it worked fine.  PHEW!

So, before I get to our NEW CHALLENGE over at WHOOPSI DAISY CHALLENGE, I want you to know that I will be drawing my BLOG CANDY today, so stay tuned…..

We have a NEW CHALLENGE over at WHOOPSI DAISY CHALLENGE and this week we are looking for SPOTS & DOTS on your creations.  I went completely SPOT & DOT crazy on my card by including dots on my DPs, image, embossed frame and ribbon

My image this week comes from Sheet 177 which can be found at WHOOPSI DAISY SHOP.  All of the images on the sheet are FABULOUS – it was hard to choose, but I went with this sweet Daisy because of the polka dotted bows in her hair and back of dress.  I colored most of the image with Copics and Atyou Spicas for the flowers.  I added JudiKins glaze on the flowers to make them pop out a bit more.  I paper pieced her dress using paper from Heidi Grace DP.  I also used some Basic Grey DP and CS from Darice and Core-dinations.  Ribbon is from Michaels and flowers from Prima.  Image and backing cut with nesties, backing embossed with Sizzix folder.  Scallops done with MFT die.  Sentiment from Whimsy Stamps and cut with Verve die.  I sure hope you like it and will come play along!!

LACE AND PEARLS AT DI’S DIGI DESIGNS CHALLENGE

Hello and happy Saturday to all!!  Hope you are having a glorious weekend so far.   I am out of town for a wedding of my hubby’s middle brother’s oldest son (my kids oldest cousin), so it’s pretty exciting – he’s the first kid from the cousins’ generation to get married.

I have used DI'S DIGI DOWNLOADS image WITH THIS RING for my card today.  The image is absolutely perfect for the card I wanted to make.  I colored the image with Copics and Atyou Spicas, cut with Nesties and then rounded the corners with EK Success punch.  DP is from First Edition and I embossed the bottom piece with Sizzix folder and created a frame out of the square piece using a Cheery Lynn die.  I added a sentiment from a Dee Gruenig rubber stamp set which I cut with Whimsy Stamps die, lace is from Hobby Lobby and bling/pearls are from K and Co.  Hope you like it and will come play along in our challenge at DI'S DIGI DESIGNS CHALLENGE!

It’s time for a NEW CHALLENGE at SEW MANY CARDS and this week we have a RECIPE CHALLENGE – 2 DESIGNER PAPERS and 4 OR MORE GEMS.  Can’t wait to see what you create!

STITCHING CHALLENGE AT THE STAMPING BOUTIQUE

Hello!  Just want to remind everyone that our CURRENT CHALLENGE at THE STAMPING BOUTIQUE CHALLENGE is to use STITCHING somewhere on your creation.  You can use real stitching, faux stitching or anything that has stitching.  I was very fortunate to find this awesome stitched DP from Recollections because although I have tried, I am terrible at trying to use machine stitching on my cards!  I guess it would help if I could actually use my sewing machine, but I digress…

Before I start my catching up of posting today, I just want to thank everyone for  all their thoughts and prayers.  The power of prayer can be so amazing and I know all your prayers for CB and my friend will be heard, so thank you so much.  Also, thanks so much for supporting me personally.  Even though I have never met most of you in person, I consider you my dear friends and your love and support has been amazing, so thank you for that!!

ALL APOLOGIES AND UPDATES

Hello all my lovely friends and followers in blogland.  As you may have noticed, I have not posted since Weds., which is very rare for me.  I wound up taking a wee self-imposed "mental health" break.  I will be catching up on some posting over the rest of the week, but just at this time, wanted to ask for your prayers, and LOTS of them.

First, my 9 year old son and I got to visit CB today - we were hoping to go late last week, but I came down with an illness, which is a sinus infection, but at the time I was not sure if it was a cold, flu or what was going on.  CB is looking good and feeling decent even with having to do chemo once a week, but he definitely has a long fight on his hands - he will do chemo for 3 years - so I would LOVE if you could keep your prayers coming for him and his family!

The next thing, I found out about on Fri. and it has pretty much wiped me out mentally.  I don't know if you remember, but back in Dec., a dear friend of mine found out she had a rare form of women's cancer. She had surgery and when they went in to do a follow up, they did not find clear margins, which means there was still cancer, but they thought they could monitor it and treat it with drugs and not have to do chemo or other treatments.  Unfortunately, she started having some other issues last weekend and had to go back into the hospital.  They found metastasizing cancer in her lungs that has spread to her brain and bone.  This came as a complete shock and the prognosis is not so good.  This person is about 20 years older than me and is a great friend, confidant and mentor - someone who has gotten me through a lot of tough times over the past 6 years.  She started chemo on Fri. and I am praying for a miracle for her, I hope you will include her in your prayers as well.

Hi everyone, it's almost the end of Wednesday for me, I hope you all had a WONDERFUL Wednesday!!  My day was busy but largely uneventful, which is not necessarily a bad thing.  Anyway, just want to share my creation with you.  I am using FAIRY HELLO FRIEND which you can find at JUST SOME LINES SHOP.  I have colored her with Copics.  Used some oranges, which I don't use too often - they match this great Basic Grey DP and also I like how they came together with the pinks and the reds on the image.  Found the perfect sentiment from My Craft Spot clear stamps.  Finished off the card with ribbon from Taylored Expressions Kit Club, flowers from Wild Orchid Crafts.  CS is Core-dinations, image and backing cut with Nesties, hearts and sentiment with Lifestyle Craft dies and scalloped edge with MFT die.  Sure hope you like it!!
