DIGITAL DELIGHTS THURSDAY SHOWCASE

Back again today and although it is still decently warm here, it’s raining and supposed to rain most of the day.  Rain makes me sleepy!

Anyway, it is THURSDAY and we have a THURSDAY SHOWCASE today for you at DIGITAL DELIGHTS BLOG and I am so excited to share my creation with you. My card today features DIGITAL DELIGHTS SHOP “Flower Power Daisy.”  She is one of my favorite DIGITAL DELIGHTS SHOP images and I have colored her with Copics and cut out with Nesties.  My papers are all from Bella Blvd., ribbon from my stash and bling from ZVA Creative.  I have not used a sentiment this time, but this card would be great for a number of occasions – birthdays, spring-related, friendship, etc.  Hope you like it!

Wow, how is it Thursday already?!?  The weeks have been flying by for me lately – only 6 more weeks of school for my kids til summer break – crazy!  Anyhow, I’m excited because we have some more FABULOUS INSPIRATION creations to share today at LITTLE MISS MUFFET which showcase last week’s mega Tea Party Release.

Today I used these super sweet LITTLE MISS MUFFET STAMPS rubber stamps from Tea Party Friends (bunny from set #1 and both Molly and Khloe from set #2 plus the hat).  Everything is colored with Copics and cut with scissors.  My tag is cut with Nesties, sentiments from Verve Stamps and bling from The Paper Studio.  DP is Carta Bella, oval cut with Cheery Lynn Designs die, CS is American Crafts and Core-dinations, bling on bottom also from The Paper Studio.  Hope you like it!!

INKY IMPRESSIONS PAPER PIECING CHALLENGE

Hello again today!   I am finally feeling a bit better and my eye is almost healed.  I actually slept really well last night too, only now I am so out of it because I slept super heavy!  My mojo continues to make a slow and steady return, hoping it’s back in full force ASAP!!

Anyway, We have a NEW CHALLENGE at INKY IMPRESSIONS CHALLENGE today and it’s to PAPER PIECING.  I love paper piecing and it’s a technique I don’t use often enough.  I sure hope you will come play along with our challenge.

Well, it’s finally gotten warmer here and we actually had sun yesterday!  Looks like the warm weather will last until Thursday and then will sadly dip back into the 40s, but I intend to enjoy it while I can!  I’m feeling much better today than most of the weekend and I think my eye is almost healed.

Today I am sharing my Faux Tile Tutorial with you.  I am using Betty Dorm Mouse digi from SIMPLY B STAMPS and 1 of the chairs plus one of the Tea Party Friends images from LITTLE MISS MUFFET STAMPS.  I have flipped the Betty Dorm Mouse Digi and added the Tea Party Friend Elephant to the Tea Party Chair that I chose from this set.  I colored everything with Copics and used papers from Core-dinations and DP from Fabi-Scraps.  This tea cup/tea pot paper was just perfect for the New Release!  I added stitched ribbon from PaperMart as well.

Now for my tutorial, the end goal is to make the image look like tile that has been pieced together.  So, first make sure your image is cut so that you can easily figure out what size your smaller squares will be.  Also helps to have your base mat cut before you begin - mine is 1/4 inch larger than the image piece.  You will then cut up your image making your squares as close to equal measurements as possible.

Now your squares are cut, you will apply glossy glue to each one.

 Try to get the glue evenly spread on the entire square and if possible, try to get all air bubbles out.

 Once you have all the squares covered, wait for the glue to dry - the drier the better before you move it to prevent excessive cracking.

Once the glue is dry, time to stick all the pieces onto your mat piece

And finally, onto your card and Voila - you have made Faux Tile!!

WE HAVE NEW RELEASES AT DIGITAL DELIGHTS!!

Before I present my NEW RELEASE creation from DIGITAL DELIGHTS SHOP this week, I want to apologize for not being around much this week.  While I was away last Weds. – Fri., I came down with some sort of illness – sinus issues, fever, aches, scratchy throat.  I did finally start feeling better later on Sunday, but then at some point Monday – either during the evening or while sleeping – I scratched my cornea in my left eye and I have been in pain ever since – ugh!  Being on the computer has been really difficult.  My eye is still painful…

I am sharing 2 tea party projects today – this tea pot and tea dispenser.  Both templates are SVG CUTS and I cut them with my Pazzle.   I have used American Crafts CS and SU DP on both creations.  For the teapot, I have added March Hare Betty from SIMPLY B STAMPS and I have used GIMP to merge her with the tea party short kettle from LITTLE MISS MUFFET STAMPS.  All colored with Copics, cut with Sizzix die and distressed with Versamark ink.  On the reverse side of tea pot is Dorm Mouse sentiment from SIMPLY B STAMPS. 

For the dispenser, I have used Gertrude Lena Hatter image from LITTLE MISS MUFFET STAMPS.  She is colored with Copics and cut with Lifestyle Crafts die and then cut with paper trimmer to flatten top and bottom to fit on dispenser.  Sentiment is from a rubber stamp set in my stash.  I sure hope you like my creations today.

Ack, kids are back to school after being off for a week and yesterday was much more eventful and frustrating than I was hoping – really wish it had all been an April Fool’s joke gone awry, but no such luck!

Enough of that though, we have our NEW CHALLENGE at CRAFTY SENTIMENTS starting today and it is a COLOR CHALLENGE – YELLOW, GREEN PLUS YOUR CHOICE!   I love yellow and green together and they look even better with one other color – I chose purple for mine and I just love this combo.

For my creation today, I have used CRAFTY SENTIMENTS DESIGNS rubber stamp Spring Breeze.  This stamp is so gorgeous and I love how she turned out after being colored with Copics.  I have been experimenting with different papers for my coloring and I have to say, I am very impressed with the Neenah solar white, which is what I used here.  Do you notice a difference in the brightness?!?  I cut her out with scissors then added papers from Bazzill and DP from SU.  Rumple ribbon is from Lovebug Creations and button from SU.  Sentiment is from Denami Designs and I colored flower with Copics, cut with Sizzix die and added My Mind’s Eye bling.  Sure hope you like it and will come play along!!

INSPIRATION WITH INKY IMPRESSIONS

Happy Monday everyone!  Today I am sharing a card I made using LiLi's First Day of School rubber stamp.  I have colored this sweet image with Copics and cut out with Taylored Expressions dies.  I added My Mind's Eye DP and American Crafts cardstock.  Sentiment is from There She Goes clear stamp and cut out with die from my stash (sorry, don't remember where it's from).

I then added a strip of embossed vellum, on which I used a Sizzix folder.  I love the way vellum looks when it is embossed - it adds a fun, different look and dimension to your creations.  Another fun tidbit about my card today is that the charm and the twine I used are also both from Inky Impressions!!  That is one of the reasons why I love Inky Impressions - not only can you get great rubber stamps and digi images, but Inky Impressions also stocks sentiment stamps and digis, twine, a fabulous selection of charms, ribbons, pearls, gems, brads and Inky dinky drops.  If you haven't been to visit the shop (or even if you have), you can find it HERE and you can see everything Inky has to offer!!
