Digi Choosday Spring Colors challenge

Hello and welcome back!!  It's Tuesday, which means time for a New Challenge at Digi Choosday Challenge Blog!  Make sure to check out Polkadoodles Shop - Nikky's images are such fun to color and I love how you can purchase sets that include papers, sentiments, embellies, design sheets and more - so great to be able to do one stop shopping!

As you know, Digi Choosday Challenge Blog features a New Challenge each Tuesday and you have 2 weeks to play along, so we have our new challenge beginning today and running until April 12 and also our Flower Frenzy Challenge which closes on April 5.   Sure hope you will come play along!

Today's New Challenge is Spring Colors.   Make sure you read the rules on the right sidebar at Digi Choosday Challenge Blog so that you can play along. Also, a new DIGI CHOOSDAY DISCOUNT is available until MIDNIGHT GMT so make sure you take advantage of that!!

You'll definitely want to check out both of our Newest Releases:  Lavender Tea Printables and Scrapbooking Download Collection and Lemonade Fizz Printables and Scrapbooking Collection - how awesome are these?!?  You can pick them up as Digital Downloads at Polkadoodles Shop or by clicking on the links above.

This week, I chose all the elements for my project this week from the Lemonade Fizz Download Collection.  Like all of the Polkadoodles collections, this collection provides unlimited options for all your paper crafting needs.  I chose to use the template for the watering can, papers, digis and sentiment from Lemonade Fizz Download Collection.   I included several different angles of my completed project so you could see all the embellies I added.

Additionally, I used my Copics as watercolors when coloring these images and wanted to share a quick tutorial on how you can also achieve this effect.   You will need your markers, colorless blender ink and a water pen.  Fill the water pen with colorless blender, then begin coloring by saturating each small area you are about to color with the colorless blender ink and apply your Copics over it.  Start with your darkest color and move through to your mid-tones and then finish with the lightest.   Continue to go over the image with the water pen while you add other colors and blend out your coloring until you achieve your desired results.  You can always go back and add more of your darkest color at the end.

You don't need to worry about going outside the lines if you are cutting your images out.  Additionally, if you are not cutting your image out, but go outside the lines, you can always blend out later by doing a highlight around the image.

I hope you will come play along with us at Digi Choosday Challenge Blog.  Don't forget also to check out all the fabulous DT projects.

Additionally, there's fun to be had and much inspiration to be gained over at Digi Choosday Facebook Group and Polkadoodles Facebook Group, so hope you will join both places if you haven't already, and if you have, pop by for a visit and come share your Polkadoodles creations!

THE CUTTING CAFE'S AWESOME NEW EASTER FILES and GDT

Hi everyone!  You may have noticed my absence here on my blog and on most social media for about a week.  Last Tues., March 15, my 2 female dogs had a horrible fight while I was home alone.  My one female almost lost one of her ears and both ears are shaved and stitched up like crazy and the top of her head is also shaved and stitched and she had to have a bunch of stitches in her nose too.  Luckily my other female only had a few surface wounds and did not require a trip to the vet.  Sadly, I was not so lucky, my leg somehow got stuck in between the dogs at some point during the fight - I do not remember it happening - and I wound up with 6 stitches on the front of my leg and 6 puncture wounds, 5 on the right side of my right leg and one on my back calf muscle.  It still hurts in places, but I can now walk without pain and my stitches come out on Weds.  Hopefully that will be the end of that and there won't be any further complications.

Anyhow, I do have some exciting news!!  I have been invited for a GDT stint at The Cutting Cafe and hint - I am hoping to stay longer than 3 months as I have always been a huge fan of the awesome cutting files, digi stamps, and digi sentiments and they now also carry clear stamps and a whole host of other amazing products, so make sure you check out The Cutting Cafe!

Today we have the DT showcasing our New Releases and they are so cute and just perfect for Easter.   Make sure you check out The Cutting Cafe Blog to see all the DT gals creations and all the different variations that can be created with the 3 new Easter Treat Cup Templates and Cutting Files.  I used the Hoppy Easter Treat Cup card file, all cutting done with my Pazzle.  I used Doodlebug Designs DP and I added faux stitches to the inside of the bunny's ears , paws and a few of the Easter eggs.  Sure hope you like it!!

For my card this week, I chose Soccer Star from The Paper Shelter Shop and I made a pop-up box card.  I love this image, so much fun and the boy in it is wearing the jersey of my older son's favorite soccer player, Lionel Messi, so just perfect for this card for him.  I colored the image with Copics and cut out with Taylored Expressions die.  Ballons and present dies are from Jaded Blossom and birthday sentiment is from Just Rite clear stamp and cut with Cheery Lynn tag die.   Design papers are from my stash.  I sure hope you like it and will come play along!!

DESTINY WOODLANDS FAE FROM FAERY INK INSPIRATION POST

Hello everyone, I cannot believe we are already 7 days into March! I am here to share some Faery Ink inspiration with you today. I know you will join me this month in LOVING the fabulous images Amanda has created for us all.

Anyway, for my project this month, I chose to play with Destiny Woodlands Fae which is available in the Faery Ink Shop. I really love this image, she is a departure from the long haired beauties I typically color, although she is still a beauty of course! I especially enjoyed doing this different hair style and I also really like the color combo I decided to go with.

Image is colored with Copics.

Hair: E79, E74, E71, E70

Face: E000, E00, E21, E11, E04, R21

Eyes: E77, E74

Lips: R27, R24

The branches in her hair and on her wings are colored with E79, E57, E35, E31 and W3.

Her wings are colored with YG97, YG95, YG93.

Leaves around her neck are YG67, YG17, YG13 and YG03

Her bodice is T4, R17, R08 and R05

I then highlighted the entire image with Y06 and cut out with Tonic die and daubed the edges with Distress Ink. Sentiment, from Verses rubber stamp, is cut with die from same Tonic set. I added bling to bottom of cut out sentiment. I adore these awesome Bo Bunny papers. I chose to make a double diagonal easel to showcase this beauty. I also added ribbon from my stash the base of the card.

Sure hope you like my creation and hopefully it has given you some inspiration. Make sure that you visit the Faery Ink Shop to see all the wonderful images there, especially the most recent New Releases!! Also, come play along in our monthly challenge - Amanda is generously giving away the adorable Doodlebug Bunny Ballerina for your projects this time around - you can check it out at Faery Ink Facebook Group March Challenge. Finally, our newest One Day Fae Giveaway starts 11pm on March 23rd, so make sure to come back here to the blog to check that out!!

Hugs:)

I used another coloring page this week, choosing a page from Adult Coloring Pages Bundle 5 for my background and then I merged Serenity Joyful Digi Stamp into the center of the page using Gimp.  I added sentiments and embellies (flowers, butterflies and mushrooms) from Twiggy and Toots Owl Full Download Collection.  I found this chicken wire frame at my local craft shop and thought it would make a perfect Mother's Day gift for my mom because she can hang it on the wall and look at it all year long.  Hope you like it!
