NEW RELEASES AT DIGITAL DELIGHTS (sorry for delay)

Well, it’s been a busy and somewhat bad week, so I am a bit behind with some posts, for which I apologize.  I like staying on top of things, so when life forces me to get behind on anything – whether it’s crafting, cooking, sleeping or being late places – I get super frustrated with myself.  I know sometimes, despite our greatest efforts to the contrary, we cannot plan for everything that life throws at us, so I need to accept that and move on!

As I mentioned earlier this week, 2 of my 4 kids contracted lice again or it was a re-birth of their previous cases.  Either way, I am still having to go through their hair with a fine tooth comb at least once a day, and that takes more than an hr. to do both.  Additionally, my oldest daughter, who is Autistic, is having some major issues at school and it doesn’t help that she’s 13 and also going through puberty.  Finally, I had a bunch of appointments this week – dentist, hair, etc. – that aren’t normally part of my schedule and I had to make cupcakes for son #2’s Halloween party at school.  Sheesh!

Anyway, enough of that – not looking for sympathy, just understanding as to why I am not quite on top of posting this week.  We have a NEW RELEASE at DIGITAL DELIGHTS SHOP and it is Christmas related and it is FABULOUS!!   I hope you will stop by the DIGITAL DELIGHTS BLOG and see all the amazing DT gals’ creations. If you have time, I’m sure they’d love a visit to their individual blogs.

Also, a NEW CHALLENGE starts today at DELIGHTGUL CHALLENGES, so I hope you will check that out and play along!!

My DIGITAL DELIGHTS SHOP image is Gingerbread Slippy and he is paired with sentiment and frame from the NEW Magical Winter sentiments set.  I have colored the image and frame with Copics and Sakura pens and added Stickles for his fur lining atop his hat and on the pom pom.  Image is cut with MFT die and frame cut with Lifestyle Crafts and MFT dies.  Sentiment cut with Nestie.  I used papers from Bo Bunny, flowers from Wild Orchid Craft and organdy ribbon from my stash.  I sure hope you like it and make sure you check out all the fun stuff going on at DIGITAL DELIGHTS SHOP and DIGITAL DELIGHTS BLOG!

Get some baby oil and shower caps. Cover their heads in baby oil at night and put the shower caps on them and let them sleep in them. Not pleasant for them but it works. Put their bedding in trash bags tied up for 2 weeks and anything else that needs to be put in trash bags. Go to the drug store get the lice spray and spray all your furniture, car seats everything. After wearing the shower caps all night comb their hair and then wash in dawn dish soap, it may take a couple 3 washings to get it out. You may have to do it a couple of nights if their hair is long. My grandkids got them and a beautician told us about the baby oil, it works! And it cheaper than anything else. Soak their hair in it and I mean dripping with baby oil. It smothers them out! It's horrible! My kids never had them, but when they would get a note home from school that someone had lice, I rinsed their hair in vinegar water. My grandma Blackwell told me to do that, she had 12 kids and none of them ever got it and it worked for me too! It's awful, poor thing, I feel for you!

Really cute card. I can totally empathize with you. I had to deal with the lice before. Finally had to cut the hair short so I could get all the eggs. I have a niece who is mentally challenged and going through puberty also. I live with her (my brother's kid). I have no advice on that but could use some. It's difficult enough when you have all your faculties. For these kids I can't even imagine what is going on in their heads. My heart goes out to you. Hugs, Robin

Sorry last comment was deleted by me. I was signed in under my sister's name. My head just isn't working today I guess. LOL
