SHOWCASE THURSDAY AT DIGITAL DELIGHTS!

Wow, I feel like I have been living in a black hole for the past day!  My 3 younger kids are back to school today, so hopefully the day will go smoothly.  Hope everyone is staying healthy.  I have a lot to do today but am hoping to get my new candy up for all of you soon.

For today’s card, I have used the BRAND NEW image from DIGITAL DELIGHTS SHOP, Rockaround Sue, I have put her on top of the image “table” and added a sentiment from DIGITAL DELIGHTS SHOP “grillin’ and chillin’” sentiments set.  I also used some of the new digi papers from the 50’s release.  I chose dies from Nellies (all circles, stars) and Nesties (rounded squares).  Image and sentiment are colored with Copics and Fiskars glitter gel pens.  Pearls from Hero Arts, organdy ribbon from JoAnn.  DP from Doodlebug Design and Prima, CS from Core-dinations.  Let me know what you think.

IT'S CLASSIC TODAY WITH JUST SOME LINES

Hello everyone!  Here I am back with you today with my JUST SOME LINES BLOG post for the day.  After beginning the day with my 2 sickies, I had to pick up another one of my kids at school at 9:30am b/c he was not feeling well.  So, it has been a pretty bad day, which is also why my post for today is later than usual.  I hope all of you are safe and healthy!

For my creation today, I went with a more "classic" feel to my card.  I usually use a lot of bright colors in my creations, but today I went with black, white and red.  I chose Winter Robin 2 from JUST SOME LINES SHOP.  I love the wide variety of images that Jehanne has in the shop and this one was great fun to color with my Copics.  I added ribbon from SU (wide striped), Michael's (white/red) and lace from Hobby Lobby.  Button is from random button assortment I found at Michael's, silver cord from SU.  Sizzix EF used on white Copic Xpress paper, red and black CS from Core-dinations and DP behind image is Doodlebug Design.  Sentiment from Verve cut with Creatables die and image and backing DP cut with Nellie's dies.  I hope you like it and that it will provide some inspiration to try some of Jehanne's great variety of images!!

EMBOSSING AND/OR SKETCH CHALLENGE AT THE PIXIE COTTAGE

Well, amazing how less than 12 hours can turn a day from great to awful.  Yesterday was a wonderful day – it was my husband’s birthday, I got to meet him for lunch (which NEVER happens), we had a nice dinner and sang to him.  Then, around midnight, my younger son came in our room and said he had gotten sick, and about 5 hours after that, my younger daughter got sick.  Just praying nobody else in the house gets it.

Anyhow, we have a GREAT NEW CHALLENGE for you today at THE PIXIE COTTAGE and it is EMBOSSING and/or SKETCH.  I can’t wait to see what everyone creates.  Remember, you have until Tues., January 24 at 11:59pm CST to play along.  We’d love to see you use an image from MICHELLE'S SCRAPBOOKING and MORE, but it is not required to play in our challenge.  You will want to go check out the shop, however, as new inventory is arriving daily!!

For my creation today, I used SAVANNAH and SMILES by ALISA RAMIREZ.  I stamped the image using Memento Ink then colored using Copics.  Really been working on my shading and creating depth recently and very pleased with how this turned out  Image cut with Nesties as is My Mind’s Eye DP behind it.  Other DP also from My Mind’s Eye and CS is Core-dinations.  Sentiment is from Clear and Simple stamps, cut with Nesties and Hero Arts bling added.  Ribbon is from Offray.  Embossed piece done with folder from Lifestyle Crafts.
