Well, if you have followed my blog for at least a week, then you know I am not the biggest fan of Mondays.  Like most Mondays, I have a busy day planned and I am tired!  But, at least the sun is shining and that always puts me in a better mood

We have a NEW CHALLENGE at DIGI DARLA'S CHALLENGE this week and it is “TAG, YOU’RE IT.”  You can either make a tag or include a tag on your project.  Once you've created your NEW (no backlinking please) creation, please leave a direct link in the InLinkz. For my creation, I chose DIGI DARLA’S DESIGNS image “Water Fairy.”  This is such a lovely image and she was such fun to color with my Copics.  I have then cut her with Nestie and punched hole in top with my hole punch and added Organdy ribbon from JoAnn.  CS is Core-dinations, Bazzill and SU and DP is Prima as is bling.  Flowers are also Prima and ribbon is from SU.  Pocket made using an MFT die.  I hope you like it and will come play along with us!

BUSY WEEKEND, CATCHING UP AND HAPPY MOTHER’S DAY!!

Hey everyone!!  Sorry I haven’t been around much the last few days.  Before I start my post for today, I want to take this opportunity to wish all mothers out there a Happy Mother’s Day!!  Even if the holiday is not celebrated in your country today, I hope all the moms out there have a wonderful day, surrounded by people you love.  I was very lucky to wake up to wonderful cards and homemade gifts from my kids – made me happy the whole day

 

I want to quick share a creation which I made for Mother’s Day using “Ponytail” image from SAN'S DESIGNS.  I love this wonderful image and she was such fun to color with my Copics and Sakura glitter pen.  I then cut her out with Nestie.  I added papers from Kaisercraft (DP) and CS from Bazzill.  I added crinkle seam binding and bling is from Hobby Lobby.  I created the sentiment using Word and cut out with Sizzix die.  Sure hope you like it and you can check out some of the other DT gals Mother’s Day projects at SAN'S DESIGNS BLOG.

For my card today, I have used CRAFTY SENTIMENTS DESIGNS rubber stamp “Jasmin Chilling in the Sun.”  I love this precious stamp and had such fun coloring her with Copics and Sakura glitter pen.  Image and frame cut with Sizzix dies.  I added a stone wall for her to sit on and some sand under the wall.  I found this awesome sentiment from Dorcerela clear stamps and cut it with L’il Inker die.  Ribbon is from PaperMart and blingy star stickers are from Hobby Lobby.  CS is Bazzill and DP is Bella Blvd.  Sure hope you like it and enjoy the rest of the hop!!

Today’s preview features several more BRAND NEW stamps and I am fortunate enough to have worked with 2 of the new stamps in today’s release.  The first is  “Jasmin Swim with Me,” what a gorgeous image!  I have colored her with Copics and cut out with Nestie.  Background cut with my paper trimmer and rounded corners with EK Success corner rounder.  I used SU papers, flowers from Petaloo and Prima bling.  Sentiment, which is perfect for this card is from Dorcerela Designs.  Sure

Andrew Stamps and it is cut with My Craft Spot die.  Ribbon from PaperMart, charm and twine from Inky Impressions.  Bling and pearls are from Prima.  I sure hope you like this one too.

Today I used these super sweet LITTLE MISS MUFFET STAMPS rubber stamps from the New Release “Forest Friends.”  I have actually used 6 different stamps for my little scene and I had so much fun placing them and coloring this scene.  I added the grass and highlights to the sky using Copics as well as mist of the coloring except for a dash of Sakura pen for hare’s teeth and spots near whiskers, the butterfly’s wings and the dragonfly’s body.  I used papers from American Crafts and DP from Carta Bella in making my easel card.  Sentiment is 2 stamps from Dorcerela and cut wit Nestie.  Button is from DeNami Designs.   Sure hope you like it!

SHARING MY SEPIA TONE PROJECT WITH SAN'S DESIGN IMAGE

Hi everyone!! Today, I want to share with you a card I made using only Sepia tones for coloring with a small dash of color.  For those who follow me regularly, you will notice this card is much different from my usual style - it has a more vintage feel and much less bright than usual.  It was really fun experimenting and I will definitely be using this coloring method again.

I have chosen the image "Mystica," which you can find at SAN'S DESIGN SHOP. I colored her with Copics using only E's except for her lips, cheeks, eyelids for which I used R20 AND R22 and some Y21 added to her hair. I also added a small amount of R20 and R22 to her hair decoration as well as some B11 and B13. Finally, I used a Recollections pen to add gold for parts of her jewelry. I cut her out with Sizzix die. I chose papers from Simple Stories and CS from Core-dinations and SU to round out the card. Sentiment is from Dorcerela stamps and cut with Nestie. Taylored Expressions dies used for banner cut pieces and Sizzix die used for scalloped border. Flowers are from Petaloo. I sure hope you like it. Let me know what you think:)

Happy Monday everyone! It is raining and yucky here – boo! I do not like rain. I was gone pretty much all weekend watching both my boys play soccer – one in a tournament (4 games b/c they made the final) and the other had a league game. I am still battling allergies although I did find some drops that really helped my itchy eyes, so that’s made things a bit better.

For my card this week, I have chosen PAPER MAKEUP SHOP image “Arianna the Princess Fairy.”  My Favorite Color is Purple, but I love purple and turquoise together and then add a hint of green, and this is my Favorite Color combo.  This DP from Kaisercraft is some of my very favorite ever, it’s just so pretty and I love the patterns.  I colored my PAPER MAKEUP SHOP image with Copics and cut out with my paper trimmer.  I added Prima bling and crystals, ribbon from Really Reasonable Ribbon and sentiment from Cardz TV that I cut with Lifestyle Crafts die.  I added CS from Bella Blvd. and Coredinations.  I sure hope you like it and will come play along!

Some coloring experimenting and mini highlighting tutorial

Happy Friday everyone!!  I am a bit later than I was hoping, but unfortunately, due to terrible allergies, I have been unable to craft since Wednesday, which has been disappointing and frustrating.  Anyway, I decided to experiment with different papers and how my Copics worked on each of them and so let's see what I came up with.  I have posted this over at INKY IMPRESSIONS INSPIRATION BLOG as well.  Also, I have had many questions over the past few weeks about how I "pop" out my images with highlights, so I'm going to quick show you that.

So, I chose Gardening LiLi rubber stamp from Inky Impressions Shop and I have chosen 2 different papers - Copic's Xpress Blend It 250gm and Neenah Solar White 110 lb.  I have stamped the image on both papers using Brilliance ink.

Just showing a few steps so you can see I colored them exactly the same.

Once I finished coloring, I pick 2 lighter colors that I think will make a nice highlight - usually an 00 and 01 or a 10 and 11 in Copic numbers.  Occasionally I venture out into other numbers, but rarely.
So, first I go around the image with the darker (higher #) color and then the lighter, blending it along the way.

So, here's my final outcome.  What do you think?  I had an easier time blending on the Neenah and also less gumming up - see how I had to unclog my marker tip on the Copic paper.  Overall though, I think they look pretty similar.  Hope this was helpful.  Tune in on Wednesday to see what I have created with this colored image.

My card today features DIGITAL DELIGHTS SHOP images “Golfing Jimmie” and “Golf Background” which I have merged together using GIMP.  I then colored everything with Copics and cut with scissors.  I added bling from Mark Richards (Michael’s), and papers from Bazzill, DP from SU.  Sentiment is from new DIGITAL DELIGHTS SHOP “Keep In Touch” sentiments, is cut with Sizzix die and daubed with Memento ink.  Hope you like it!!
