SOFTPENCIL TUESDAY - SWEET SAILORS

It's Tuesday, which means time for my SOFTPENCIL PROJECT this week!!  A few announcements before I get to my project this week.  You'll want to pop on over to the SOFTPENCIL BLOG to check out everything that is going on this week.   Plus, Elizabeth has shared some SUPER EXCITING news about the new SOFTPENCIL STUDIOS coming in 2011!!  You can also see all the work from the other SOFTPENCIL DT members, which is AMAZING.  If you have a chance, please stop by the other DT members blogs (links in my sidebar) and leave them some love as their work is so inspiring!!

As of now, the SOFTPENCIL SHOP is closed for maintenance, so the only place you can get the current SOFTPENCIL PRODUCTS is at SOFTPENCIL'S ETSY SHOP.  All current products will be available ONLY until Jan. 2.  Elizabeth is re-designing all her characters, so get your current SOFTPENCIL products while you still can.  For NOVEMBER, everything in the SOFTPENCIL ETSY SHOP is 20% off!!  Also,

For our DT projects this week, we are using the image "Sweet Sailors," which is so adorable.  I have colored my SOFTPENCIL image with Copics, Atyou Spicas and Stickles.  It is cut out with Nellie's die, distressed with SU Cherry Cobbler ink and then I laced pearls through it.  Papers are SU Cherry Cobbler and Crumb cake and TAC white.  Each paper is embossed with Sizzix EF - red and white use same EF and different one used on Crumb cake.  White piece is distressed with SU Cherry Cobbler ink.  Lace/ribbon is from The Girl's Paperie.  I had a lot of fun making this, and I hope you like it as well.

MARVELOUS MONDAY AT SHELLY'S IMAGES!

It's Monday and although I always start Mondays kind of slowly, SHELLY'S IMAGES SHOP does not because over there, it's MARVELOUS MONDAY!!  So head on over there and get your FEATURE IMAGE - "Sleigh Ride" for a SPECIAL PRICE TODAY ONLY!!  This image is FABULOUS, head on over to SHELLY'S IMAGES BLOG and check out what the DT has created with this wonderful image.


Here is my card.   I colored the image with Copics and Atyou Spicas, cut out with nesites and distressed with Su Handsome Hunter.  I chose Sparkly green CS from Marco's Paper as my base.  DP strip is from Kaiser Craft.  Pearly ribbon is from my stash.  Present sticker is something I just bought (will add who makes it later).  SU Poppy Parade is embossed with Sizzix "Merry Christmas" EF and Bazzill textured tan paper also embossed with Sizzix folder.  I followed the sketch from THE SWEET STOP.


Inside is Echo Park DP and sentiment is from sheet of stickers from Paper Maniac.

WHOOPSI DAISY HOLIDAY CARD CHALLENGE

Welcome to my announcement of the NEW CHALLENGE at WHOOPSI DAISY CHALLENGE BLOG.  This week we are challenging you to make HOLIDAY CARDS.  You have until next SUNDAY, Nov. 28, 7:30pm EST to enter the challenge over at WHOOPSI DAISY CHALLENGE BLOG.   While you are not required to use a WHOOPSI DAISY image, we'd sure LOVE to see one!  You can find all the AMAZING images at WHOOPSI DAISY SHOP and also a FREEBIE!!  Linnie's designs are so WONDERFUL and you get 4 images per sheet at a really FABULOUS price, so I hope you will check it out:)

As I have mentioned, I have been experimenting with lots of different papers, layers and textures and my card for this week's WHOOPSI DAISY challenge is no different.  I chose to make another gate fold card.  I used 3 of the images from WHOOPSI DAISY SHEET 150 for my card.  I chose a Grey Bazzill textured CS for the base.  SU basic black is used as 2nd layer and then I embossed red vellum from Marco's Paper with a Cuttlebug EF.  Button is from Jilliebean and green lace is from Webster's Pages.  Images are colored with Atyou Spicas and Copics, cut with nesties and daubed with SU handsome hunter.

For the inside of the card, I chose to follow the sketch from

I created the sentiment using Microsoft Word and cut out using nesties.  I colored my WHOOPSI DIASY image with Copics and Atyou Spicas, cut out with Nesties and daubed with SU handsome hunter.  Lace is from Hero Arts.  Green ribbon is from my stash.  DP is Kaisercraft.  Snowflake is cut using Marianne's die and sparkly red paper from Marco's Paper, which is also used for the 2nd layer.  Pearls are Mark Richards.  Scallops done with Quickutz die.  I hope you like it and that you will come join our challenge at WHOOPSI DAISY:)

CRAFTY HOs' SKETCH CHALLENGE

Happy Sunday!!  Yesterday was quite busy.  We had a party for the younger 2 of my 4 kids.  Their birthdays were in Sept. and Oct., but because of soccer, we couldn't schedule the party until this weekend.  There were over 30 kids, although thankfully, it was at the roller rink and not here, which made clean up very easy!!;)  Anyway, yesterday was the only day this week that I didn't post anything yet it seems like it's been an eternity since I posted something new!

Ok, enough jabbering.  I am excited to share our NEW CHALLENGE over at CRAFTY HOs' this week.  It is a sketch challenge and the sketch is from our very own SCRAPPY.  She makes great sketches, and this one is no exception.   You have until 11:59pm EST on Sat., Nov. 27 to enter your project over at CRAFTY HOs'.  Can't wait to see what you create:)

I made a gate fold card this week.  I used Bazzill textured yellow and green CS, SEI DP, an orange metallic/sparkle paper from Marco's Paper and a green vellum also from Marco's (local store, though you can order through their website).  Ribbon is from my stash, button flowers are Basic Grey, sparkly bling leaves are from Jolee's Boutique.  I colored my FAIRY KNOLL image with Copics and Atyou Spicas, cut with nesties and distressed with SU garden green ink.  Green vellum is embossed with Sizzix EF.  Need to check who makes sentiment stamp on front, but it is stamped in Staz-on brown and cut using nesties.  Hope you like my card:)

SEW MANY CARDS CHALLENGE - TURKEY AND A PUNCH!

Happy Friday everyone!!  Saturday is probably my favorite day of the week because I can sleep in and stay up late, but Friday is a close second!!  Life has been busy to say the least.  After doing basically NOTHING for 4 days due to being sick, I have just been trying to catch up on stuff all week.  Can't believe it's Friday already.

Friday means there is a NEW CHALLENGE at SEW MANY CARDS CHALLENGE BLOG and this week, in celebration of THANKSGIVING, our challenge is to make a project with a TURKEY AND A PUNCH.  I love fall colors, so I had great fun making this card.  I hope you will take part in our challenge this week - make sure to link your project at SEW MANY CARDS CHALLENGE BLOG by Thurs., November 25 (Thanksgiving Day) to be eligible for our prize.  It is not required to use an SMC image to play along with us, but we'd sure LOVE to see one!!  All of Angela's FANTASTIC images can be found at SEW MANY CARDS SHOP.

I chose Donovan the Donkey with a turkey in wagon as my image.  I LOVE this fun image!!
I colored the image with Copics and Atyou Spicas then cut out using Nellie's die.  Ribbon is from scrapbook.com, DP is SEI, base CS is SU cherry cobbler and brown is Prism.  Small flowers are cut from a McGill punch that has multiple flowers and larger flower is also cut with a punch.  I hope you like it and that you will come play along with the challenge!!

FRESH BREWED CHALLENGE - SHOW US YOUR STYLE!!

For my card this week, I followed the sketch from THE PINK ELEPHANT. I really enjoyed working with this sketch.  I chose some of my favorite colors - purple, pink, brown and green for this card.  I used one of my FAVORITE techniques, dry embossing - I used a Sizzix EF.  Papers are SU kraft and pretty in pink.  Sentiment is from Verve.  Flower bling is Darice.  Nellie's dies were used to cut image and background paper.  MFT die used to make scallop border.  All DP is from K & Co.  Sentiment cut with Quickutz die and daubed with SU purely pomegranate.  Ribbon is from my stash.  FRESH BREWED DESIGNS IMAGE colored with Copics, Atyou Spicas and Stickles.  I hope you like it and that you will play along with the challenge!!

This week, we are working with the image "MERRY CHRISTMAS."  I LOVE this image because it reminds me of the joy and simplicity that I like to take in at Christmas time.
Craft Your Passion (link below) has a technique challenge this week for a diamond fold, which I had actually never seen before and thought it was SUPER COOL, so I followed the tutorial linked to the Craft Your Passion Challenge blog.  I chose DP from Basic Grey and base is SU textured more mustard.  SOFTPENCIL Image is colored with Copics, Atyou Spicas, Sakura glaze pen (white) and Stickles.  Image cut by hand.  Sentiment is Amuse clear stamps, stamped with SU cherry cobbler, cut with Nesties and distressed with SU old olive.  Gold trim is from Pink Paislee.  I do not remember who makes sparkly red flowers/flourishes.  I hope you like it, I'm pretty psyched how it turned out:)

WHOOPSI DAISY EASEL CARD CHALLENGE

Good Tuesday morning everyone!  Wow, I haven't posted since Fri. - yikes!  I am FINALLY feeling better after being down and out since mid-day on Thurs.  I had some sort of virus which left me with Vertigo for several days, which was NOT fun!!  Anyhow, I'm trying to do some catching up and then moving forward with this week's projects.
