CARDMADFAIRY'S WEDDING CHALLENGE

Well, today is the day for the Royal Wedding in the UK.  Are you watching it?  Recording it?  I am sure I will watch some of it either on the computer or the tv.  In honor of the Royal Wedding, CARDMADFAIRY CHALLENGE is a wedding challenge.  We are sponsored this week by WHOOPSI DAISY DESIGNS and I have chosen to use an image from WHOOPSI DAISY sheet 209.

To join our DIGI DAYS with CARDMADFAIRY Challenge, create a project using the challenge theme and enter it by Thurs., May 12.  You MUST use a digi.  You are allowed to enter our challenge once with any image or multiple times with a CARDMADFAIRY image.   Can't wait to see what you create!

DIGITAL DELIGHTS - THURSDAY SHOWCASE

Good morning and welcome to another Thursday showcase with DIGITAL DELIGHTS.  Since many people are focusing on the upcoming wedding in the UK (tomorrow my time), I thought a wedding card seemed appropriate this week.  Therefore, I chose Madison the Bride and Brady the Groom as well as a blank circular sentiment from DIGITAL DELIGHTS SHOP.   I added "Congratulations" to the blank sentiment and cut using nesties then added some color with Copics.  Images are also colored with Copics as well as Atyou Spicas.  Bling and flowers are from Prima, lace from JoAnn, ribbon for bow from stash.  All other shapes cut with Nesties as well.  DP from Echo Park (grey) and my stash (flowered).  Purple piece is American Crafts textured and is embossed with Cuttlebug folder.  I hope you like it!!

Welcome to another Tuesday with SOFTPENCIL STUDIOS!!  I hope everyone is having better weather than us - we have had such massive amounts of rain that I am beginning to think I will never see the precious sun again!  I think all the rain has caused me to create a bright and cheerful card in hopes that better weather is on its way:)

Today, the SOFTPENCIL STUDIOS DT is using "Growing Flowers in Pots."  I colored this super cute image with Copics and cut out using Nesties.  Flowers are from Recollections, Bling from Mark Richards, DP from K and Co., sparkly layer from Marco's Paper and base CS from American Crafts textured.  Sentiment is from TPC Studio clear stamp, stamped in timber brown Staz-On and daubed with Tim Holtz distress ink.

NEW CHALLENGE AT STAMP INSANITY!!

We have a NEW CHALLENGE this week at STAMP INSANITY and our theme this week is HEAVY METAL!  What does that mean you may wonder?!?  Well, just use metal somewhere on your card - actual metal sheets (they look awesome embossed with EF), brads, eyelets...  You get the idea!

Now, I know most of think of chocolate or Peeps or jelly beans as Easter Sweet treats, but I chose strawberries!  There are 2 reasons for this 1.  I LOVE this image of "Strawberry Lou" from DI's DIGI DOWNLOADS and 2.  I am trying to get my children to choose healthy alternatives for dessert, so I thought I should practice what I preach!!

Wow, crazy weekend!  Lots of wind storms which prevented me from access to my trusty computer or laptop because we kept losing our internet connection on Saturday night and Sunday.  So, please excuse some catching up posts:) 

Before I even get to the NEW CHALLENGES that I have made cards for, I want to share a bit about my weekend.  I was fortunate enough to take a class taught by Beate Johns from Splitcoast.  She is an amazing crafter and very funny and sweet.  I really enjoyed the class - it was fancy fold cards and coloring with Copics.  She really taught a lot, especially about coloring with Copics and I think you may notice in my creations, but I will let you judge for yourself:)

My first post today is to let you know about the NEW CHALLENGE at CRAFTY HOs' CHALLENGE.  Our challenge this week is to use a Rubber/Clear Stamp plus a digi stamp.  I have chosen an image from WHOOPSI DAISY SHOP as my digi and a clear sentiment stamp "Great Times!" from Fiskars.  I colored my image using Copics and my newly learned coloring method.

DPs are from My Mind's Eye and Best Creations.  Lace and button hearts from JoAnn.  All rounded squares cut with Lifestyle Crafts dies, large rectangle and sentiment tag cut with Nesties.  Bling flowers from Me and Kaisercraft.  CS is Bazzill textured.  Hope you like it.

DIGI DAYS with CARDMADFAIRY - RECIPE CHALLENGE

I am keeping my fingers crossed that this posts when scheduled b/c I am having issues with Blogger yet again this evening.  Welcome to a NEW CHALLENGE this week at  DIGI DAYS with CARDMADFAIRY.  This week we have a RECIPE challenge for you and the recipe is:

You can interpret this recipe however you like as long as you include all the ingredients.  For example, I used 2 flowers and a ribbon for my embellies, but you could use 3 of the same or 3 different things...  I also used 2 DPs plus base CS and white CS.  So, come play along with us!  You have until Thurs., April 28 to enter your project at DIGI DAYS with CARDMADFAIRY - rules are use a digi and 1 entry unless you use a CARDMADFAIRY image and then you can enter as many times as you like.  Also, any entries using CARDMADFAIRY images are entered twice into our winner's draw.  We will also be choosing a Top 3 now.

SEW MANY CARDS RECIPE CHALLENGE

I followed this recipe for both my cards.  For my first card, I used Miki Monkey in Easter Basket.  I colored the image with Copics and Atyou Spicas and added Sakura Metallic glaze to egg on top of Miki's head.  I chose 2 DPs from We R Memory Keepers and Echo Park.  The other 2 papers are Textured American Crafts CS, blue piece embossed with Cuttlebug folder.  Ribbon from SU, flower from Prima, button from DeNami Designs and sentiment from Impression Obsession rubber stamp.  Doily die is Cheery Lane.  Image cut out by scissors.  Hope you like it!!

Second card features this week's FRIDAY FREEBIE of cupcake carousel.  I colored the image with Copics and Atyou Spicas and then added liquid pearls and Stickles.  Papers are 2 DP from Three Bugs in a Rug, button is from Bag o' Buttons, flower is Prima, Sentiment from C.C. Designs.  Glitter paper cut with Nesties, image cut with Lifestyle Crafts die, sentiment cut with Nesties.  American Crafts CS is base and 2nd layer which is embossed with Cuttlebug folder.

KABOODLE DOODLES CUTE AND CUDDLY ANIMALS

For my card this week, I chose to work with DIGITAL DELIGHTS image "Lili the Skunk" and chose one of the sentiments from the Skunk Sentiments set that I altered using word - changed it from a rectangle to a circle, colored with Copics and cut with Nesties.

Lili is also colored with Copics and Atyou Spicas.  I added Flower Soft to make her white stripe, tummy and hair fluffy.  I added JudiKins glaze to the flower and butterfly for more dimension as well.  Flowers are Recollections and all DP is Echo Park.  Bling is My Mind's Eye.  American Crafts textured is base CS.  I cut image with Nestie and daubed with SU pumpkin pie.  Hope you like it!!

Happy Tuesday and welcome to another SOFTPENCIL TUESDAY!  I hope you are having a FABULOUS day.  It is colder, windy and rainy here today which is a bummer, but I am working to stay positive and hoping the sun emerges soon:)

WHOOPSI DAISY - LET'S GET VINTAGE/SHABBY CHIC

Good morning to everyone!!  My weekend was very busy with a soccer tournament for the older of my 2 sons (he's 10).  It was fun, but we got rained out of our second game on Saturday, and as a result did not make the final, but they are a bunch of 10 year olds and they had fun and mostly played well.

Now I want to let you know about this week's NEW CHALLENGE over at WHOOPSI DAISY CHALLENGE and it is VINTAGE/SHABBY CHIC.  I actually picked the challenge this week and the DAISY DIVA DT girls absolutely ROCKED it!!  There creations are SOOO AMAZING.  You will definitely want to check them out at WHOOPSI DAISY CHALLENGE.  Also, if you have a chance, I'm sure they would love a visit to their personal blogs.  Trust me, you will enjoy seeing ALL of their FABULOUS creations:)

Hello and sorry this post is so late.  Been having a heck of a time this week not only because I had to get myself and the kids back on their school schedule, and because I sliced my finger yesterday but because things are starting to bloom and I have terrible allergies.  Typically, that wouldn't be a huge deal b/c I would just take my allergy pills and move on, but my ENT decided I needed to undergo allergy testing.  Part of allergy testing means no allergy/sinus or cold related meds. for 10 days prior to the testing.  Since my testing is Mon., I have spent the whole week with watery eyes, constantly running nose and clogged ears.  I cannot wait to get my testing done so I can take allergy meds again!!

Ok, wow, I sound like a HUGE complainer, and I am so NOT that, so I will quit complaining and give you some GROOVY NEWZ!!  Our DT over at STAMPINSTANITY'S GROOVY GURLZ have a NEW DT COORDINATOR and that is TANYA!!  Thanks so much to TANYA for taking the reins:)

DIGITAL DELIGHTS NEW RELEASES - WOO HOO!!

I got to play with DIGITAL DELIGHTS Presley the Pirate this week and I had so much fun coloring him and his shop with Copics, Atyou Spicas and a Sakura white gel pen.

I tried a new fold this week, called "Accordian" style.  Got the instructions from the resources area of Splitcoast Stampers.  I deciced to cut the images and sentimet with Nesties and then distress using Tim Holtz tea stain distress ink.  I thought it fit well with the pirate them.  American Crafts textured CS is base of card, I also used 2 DIGITAL DELIGHTS digi papers and sentiment, plus added eye patch to Presley's eye from DIGITAL DELIGHTS Pirate accessories set.  Polka do DP is from Kaisercraft.  I really hope you like it - I had a lot of fun with it!!  Bling is My Mind's Eye.
